I was recently just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and CFS and was prescribed sauna use to help with it. I was just wondering if anyone has had this or tried this out and if it worked. My insurance doesn't cover this and I am pretty willing to try anything at this point.
Thanks

Hi, tired, and welcome!  I know moist heat helps but most like hot tubs.  I haven't tried a sauna and that is an odd "prescription" for fibro.

Check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibromyalgia that may help you.  Read back posts, too.  There is a world of info in them.

I'm glad you joined us and hope to hear more from  you soon.

Hi tired,

We have a sauna and I had not used it all summer, but went into it a couple of weeks ago in search of relief.  I'd say the hot tub works better.  The heat gets right on you and right away.  Our sauna is infared heat and it never really does that.  Maybe a diff kind would be better.
