Is it all over your body and you feel like your body is fighting off something or is it in one area???

Moist heat, gentle stretches, tylenol and TENS unit is what I use. We have to wait it out and we can't tell how long they will last.

Hope it goes away soon.

luv and hugs

Hi LeeAnn-

I'm just figuring all this out for myself. The "off the charts" pain has settled down for me now, but still have pain everyday. Just from reading on flares, I think everyone is different. I wish there was more predictability from this fibro! The only thing predictable about it is it is "unpredictable!"

Try malic acid/magnesium supplements.  The info about them is in the Fibro 101 thread.

I have been in a flare for 3 months but it should start getting better now that the heat and humidity have finally let up.  I wouldn't be able to function without those supplements during a flare.  They don't help everyone but many have had good success with them.  I know I have!

the malic acid to has had good luck with them My whole body aches especially my legs. I know this may sound weird but it hurts to chew. I have never had this happen before. Does any one else have that problem.. Was just at dentist no knew cavaties or any thing unusual. My arms are killing me just from typing this little blurb.

I take the malic acid/magnesium combination.  I get mine at puritan.com.  They are pretty inexpensive there.  The combination ones in my health food store had a bunch of other things in it and I didn't want that.  Plus, they were more expensive.

Hi LeeAnn!

I'm afraid that there is no such thing as the "average" flare. These things seem to vary from person to person as widely as there are numbers of stars in the universe. I know exactly where you're coming from.....I'm in a major flare myself that I'm almost positive is driven by my CEBV since I'm feeling mono/flu like symptoms as well. I'd take Sherrine's and Marlee's advice like gold.....I'm about to order some of that malic acid/magnesium stuff myself from that Puritan site as I've found their price the best so far. I also find the hot bath, especially if you have a whirlpool tub, works wonders for a pretty sustained period for me!

Gentlest of hugs,

John
