Regardless of how much sleep I have I can have several days at a time where all I do is slip in and out of sleep which sounds good but it isnt, it makes me feel more tired and my symptoms worse I dont understand why it does it, then I will have a couple days where im fine.  The days I wish I could sleep because of bad night I cant only when it seems to want it.  its weird.

This is where I've found the Malic acid to help me. It ups my overall energy level to the point that I'm not falling asleep all day long. Coffee helps, too. And some of our fellow fibros take meds that "perk" them up a bit. If you've already tried the malic acid and had no luck discuss this with your doctor. You might be able to take one of the newer meds like effexor.

I agree with Jeannie.  I used to fall asleep sitting up in a chair or at the computer before I started the malic acid/magnesium supplements.  Now I go all day long.  Sometimes, if I got less sleep, I need a cup of tea around 3 PM.  That energizes me and I'm good until bedtime.

I could sleep 24/7. And I would but now I take adderall. It is one of the drugs that 'perk' you up as Jeannie said. It works well and is a God sent. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have a life. I also take the malic acid/magnesium supplement and it helps too.

I hope that you find what is right for you.

Thanks for replies,  it sounds like the malic acid may be worth a try, dont know if we have it here in Australia but hubby going to chemist tonight so I will definately get him to ask.  I quite often drink diet coke to try stay awake and force myself up everytime I wake up, falling asleep all the time makes you feel worse with me anyways.   thanks.             sue2z :-) :-)

I walk into the pool every morning. That wakes me up. If I only had to rely on coffee, I might not make it.

It is terrible. I am up all day but I can quite easily sleep in a chair.

I remember when old people used to do that.
