Since my rheumatologist seems to think that might be what's going on with me...

Does anyone else have days where they'll wake up really early in the morning with severe hip pain and knee pain? I mean... so much pain, you can hardly walk.... *I always have to hold onto something because it's so painful* Usually lasts about an hour or two before it goes away.... but there have been times where I've gone a half a day being in that kind of pain....
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Yeah, I think morning stiffness and pain are "classic" fibromyalgia symptoms.  I always have trouble walking when I first wake up or even if I've just been sitting for awhile.

Just last night I was upstairs lying on my daughter's bed talking with her.  When I got up to go to bed, I didn't think I was going to make it down the stairs - lots of leg and knee pain that wasn't there 30 minutes before.

Glad I found this forum! I get very lonley with my pains at times! Just had a migraine that lasted 10 days and IBS which hasn't stopped in two weeks, plus eye pain!
Yes, I too get really bad pains in my hips and knees, which are worse in the morning. There are mornings when I really don't think I can move at all because of the pain. My worse problem is the pain in the sole of feet, which on same days can be so debilitating.... being the sole of my feet, walking becomes very problematic at times! The joys of fibro I supposed!!

Hi Celey and welcome. I am lucky and don't have a lot of stiffness in the mornings but there are many that do. Read the fibro 101 thread there is a lot of info in it. You will learn a lot about fibro on here so ask questions.

Hi, Celey, and welcome to the forum!  Yes, morning pain and stiffness is a symptom of fibromyalgia.  Actually you can become stiff just by sitting or laying too long.  You need to keep moving and stretching with fibromyalgia.  I use a cane in the morning until I loosen up.  Once I start moving and get my ibuprofen in me, I don't need the cane the rest of the day.

You will find out a lot about fibromyalgia on the Fibro 101 thread that Marlee told you about.  Read it and become informed.  Knowledge is power and this will help you cope with fibro.  Also, read back posts.  There is a world of information in them.

Meanwhile, don't hesitate to ask questions.  We are here to help you.  I'm so glad you joined in and I hope to hear more from you soon.

Hi DW and welcome. I somehow missed your post this morning. That's what happens when I try to read post before my brain is awake.

You don't have to be alone with your pain anymore since you found us. I don't have migraines but I deal with the IBS constantly. My feet starting burning and hurting this summer for the first time but since the weather has changed they seem to be better.

Yep, the joys of fibro.

Hi,

Regarding your hip pains, is it confined to the hip joint area? Or do youg get pain that radiates from your front hip area and down the front of your let, to your knee?

Yes, my legs are very stiff and sore in the morning when I wake up also. I really strugle to walk. Once I get moving for a while the stiffness gets a little better. I just started lyrica and it really seems to be helping.

There sure was a lot of information (and yet, still seems like so little... but that seems the way it is with all diseases)... I'm not sure if its fibromyalgia that's bothering me or not.... seems like I have a lot of the symptoms, but none of the others. And I definitely have those tender points... *I wasn't even aware of some of them until the rheumatologist started poking on me*

All I do know is that pain hurts... //@.@\\'... *I also suffer from Crohn's disease... I'm just relieved I don't have avascular necrosis from long-term prednisone use...*

Anyway... Baybreeze, I think I know what you're getting at.... Sciatica... When I had really severe pain that wouldn't go away, I went to the hospital... and they did an MRI scan on my back... I have some slightly bulging discs and joint space narrowing... but otherwise... There really isn't anything too abnormal...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Hi Celey and welcome-

I have bad hip pain at times when I wake up but mostly stiffness. It takes me a couple hours to get this body going in the morning. This can get confusing for many that I have read. Mine came on very hard and sudden, and after ruling out all the other diseases this mimics with normal results, normal MRI and the pain hitting me like a ton of bricks, they diagnosed me.

And also with having all those tender points it makes me wonder. I hope you can get to the bottom of this soon. GamJill
