Well hey everyone, new to this forum, but not new to Healing Well. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with RA, and just recently diagnosed with Fibro Myalgia.
I have been sitting here for about 1 hour reading alot of your posts and saying "oh, well that explains that pain" LOL. The RA is bad enough but then came the stabbing pain in my feet once I'm in bed, and they feel cracky like they'll break in the morning when I get up.
Went for a pedicure because the feet hurt so bad I thought it would feel great. The hot water and foot massage feels great, but she started rubbing my calves and hit very painful spots on both legs that made me almost kick the poor little girl doing it!
My hips ache, 2 separate bouts with sciatica. one that I got a epidural steroidal injection to help. Low back pain, and knees ache too.
Somedays I want to cut my neck off because the pain and ache is unbearable.
Now I read that maybe there are vitamin supplements and meds that may help me through some of this pain. I am now taking Remicade infusions every 6 weeks, along with folic acid, methotrexate, vitamin D, and plenty of B and multi's. I was taking Ibuprophen but delveloped such bad bouts of vertigo, I quit taking it. So now I take nothing but tylenol for pain. I read your fms 101 and gained alot from it, but I'd still love some more input from others. Nice to be here! yeah

Well Kibbles, you hit on my pain. I have terrible foot and leg pain from fibro. It has plagued me for the last eight years too. I am taking the Lyrica and Percocet for it every day. My feet ache so bad sometimes I want to cry. A hot bath works and helps relieve some of the pain.

I hope your pain gets better soon. Maybe you should ask your doctor about something for pain that is stronger than tylenol?? Just a suggestion.

Well have a lpd and God's blessings.

Hi Kibbles and welcome. Sorry you had to come to this forum too. I think amitriptyline helps with my pain, not sure cause I was already on it when I was dxd with fibro. I did try to cut down in the spring and went into a terrible flare. I take 4000 mg of tylenol a day. Tramadol helps some if the pain isn't too intense. My body doesn't do well with narcotics. My stomach couldn't handle the malic acid. I do use a TENS unit when the pain gets really bad to interrupt the pain signal to the brain. I use moist heat in many forms. I had to get the moist heating pad out last night for my left shoulder.

Most of my pain is from the waist up. I do have some foot  and leg pain but not like you do. For some of us it is the upper body and some the lower body. I hear you on the neck pain, that is one of my worst areas.

I am going to try cymbalta. I need to find a weekend when there is nothing going on and DH is home in case I have a reaction to it. Not sure when that is going to be.

I'm glad your reading a lot that is the best way to learn.

luv and hugs

Thanks to all of you for welcoming me!! So I guess one of my questions is, does fibro myalgia get worse? Or do I just have it and this is the way it will stay?

I have Tramadol, but I hate anything that makes me feel different (narcotics). The Tylenol arthritis formula seems to do the trick for now, thats why I'm asking if this is a progressive disease? I can't really decide or know the difference between the RA pain and Fibro pain. Am I correct in thinking that the ache in places other than joints is the fibro? Like the feet , calves , hips and neck? See thats where I get confused, cause the hips are joints, and I get horid pain in my feet like the bones. I'm so confused!!
