Has anyone heard of Topamax assisting with chronic pain? I went on another website where I read a review of Topamax. The person reviewing the drug said it worked well to stop her spinal pain. I occasionally get tailbone spinal pain and traditional meds don't even begin to help. Topamax for Pain?

I just got put on Topamax for my migraines...so we'll see I guess - they say it takes up to three months to reach the full effect.
~~Asthma, Reactive Airway Disease, Allergies (to nature), Fibromyalgia, Kidney Reflux Disease, Chronic Migraines (docs currently working on those), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Restless Leg Syndrome, and a few others that remain undiagnosed because I don't feel like being on anymore medication than I am already on. ~~

I have been on Topamax for four years for my migraines which are far and few between.  As for the tail bone pain, I have no relief at all.  It is know to cause weight loss, which may take some of the strain off your back.  Good luck.

Thank-you all for your imput. I guess I'm looking for the miracle medicine that will 1) regulate my moods, 2) prevent migraines, 3) reduce the neurological pain, primarily aching mounth and aching spine, 4) lose a few pounds, 5) allow me to get off the meds I'm on as they're too many. But, truthfully, to not be in pain all the time is #1 with me because when I'm in pain I can't function. I just want to curl up and sleep.
