My doctor has had me on either 7.5 or 10/500 mg lortabs for almost a year now.  about a month ago, I fell and broke 2 ribs and he changed my lortab to 10/325.  At my last visit, he refilled all my meds, and when I looked at them at the pharmacy, I noticed he gave me 10/325's again.  Someone told me those are Norco's.  Is there a difference? and should they work any different?

I take norco 10/325. They are generic, but they are a yellow caplet. Do yours look like that? I got given them because the others had so much tylenol in them. He said it isn't good for the liver to take so much.

The drug expert comes to the rescue!  LOL smilewinkgrin
Norco, Lortab & Vicodin are all brand names of the same generic drug-hydrocodone.  They come in different strengths.  They also usually include some sort of NSAID like Tylenol (acetamenophin) or aspirin.  There is also a drug with the brand name Vicoprofen which is hydrocodone and ibuprophen.  So, momofmany, you now have a drug with a higher strength dose of hydrocodone, but it has less Tylenol in it. The "10" is the hydrocodone, and the "325" is the Tylenol.   Make sense? confused
Hope this helps solve some of the mystery! :-)
