I know that one of the things associated with FMS is jaw pain which I get a lot - does anyone get muscle pain in their jaw when they are eating? A lot of the time when I was eating I have to stop or eat really slowly because it hurts. I just stopped and thought of this the other day as being abnormal. Is this just me being weird? :-)

Your not weird Leerie-

I get jaw pain when I eat at times and will have to switch sides to eat and eat slower. I do have TMJ and I know that it doesn't help matters. I can get pain in my jaw even when I am not eating also.

I don't think I have tmj, though for years my jaw was slightly out of place. It wasn't until haveing a tooth pulled that it went back in place.

But this is a good topic. I am sure that there are others with this same problem.

And no you are not weird.

You're not weird at all. This can be a common problem with we with fibro. I do have TMJ, though. I have had it for a long time because I used to chew way too much gum. LOL. But, it is a very common thing for those of us with fibro. So don't think that you are weird. This is common.

This has happened to me several times in the last month.  It's very painful and yes I need to slow down and chew on the oposite side of the pain, which is always on the right side.  I have not been diagnosed with TMJ but I do suspect that I have it because this happens to me a lot.  You are not weird at all!

I have TMJ, but I've noticed that lately (since my pain and fatigue have gotten worse) my jaw gets tired when I eat.  I'm a very fast eater, but lately it's taking a long time to down anything chewy.
