People think I am a closet drunk or a druggie cuz I walk into walls constantly...just like I meant to blam into them...I see the wall but the body wont go the way I want it to or think it is..I also get the dizzies where the room is spinning and I am ok sitting up but laying down then is like being on a merry go round. And people think this disease is just about a little muscle pain!!!

I don't get dizzy laying down but I can sure relate to things jumping in your way all the time. I can't walk across my yard without staggering to keep my balance and it is embarrassing. I don't drink and I don't take narcotics. I have told some of my neighbors that I have muscle problems so they won't think I'm an alcoholic or drug addict. I don't think I could walk a straight line if I had to.

Welcome. Bridgewitch, to the fibromyalgia forum!  I do get lightheaded but not as dizzy as you do.  I have been known to misjudge rounding corners and banging into them with my shoulders.  OUCH!  Not fun, huh.

When I was in college I got drunk a couple of times.  (Be quiet, Marlee!  devil )  Anyway, when I would lie down, the room would "spin".  But, if I put one foot on the floor, that helped immensely.  I'm not sure if that will help you but it might be worth a try.  Hmmm...I didn't think those college days would ever come in handy!  shocked turn

Sherrine,

You got DRUNK? Bad girl!!! I never dreamed you would ever post anything like that...LOL...

I just had to throw that in.

Bridgewitch,

I know that feeling of not being able to walk without stumbling. Also the lightheadedness. But I don't have the bedspins. Like Sherrine said, try placing one foot on the floor. Maybe that will help. I hope that it does.

I hope that you are feeling better soon. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Hugs, Karen

I bump into things ALL THE TIME. Sometimes I think I am providing free entertainment for my hubby since he constantly comments on it.
He will hear a thump or boom followed by me saying "ouch" (or sometimes depending on the severity a more intense word......) and then he will ask me what it was I ran into. Sometimes I don't even know I have run into something (how sad is that?). He will ask me "How long has that wall (or whatever) been there?" Of course it's always been there yet I continue to run into it (or many it's).
I know the feeling.
