I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem...?my heart sometimes just starts pounding - like I'm really scared or nervous about something but nothing is going on.  It really feels like its going to pop out of my chest! I think I read somewhere that this is yet another fibro thing, but does anyone else have any experience like this?  Should I be worried?  After maybe 15min to a half hour it slowly goes back to normal.  HELP!

Jenny, I have heart palpatations from fibro.  My heart skips a beat sometimes.  I did see my doctor about it and he did an electrocardiogram, an echocardiogram, and ultrasound of my heart and arteries, and he had me wear a heart monitor for 24 hours.  My heart was fine so I cold relax about it.  I still will get them, but not as often.  I think that is because I now know what is causing it.

My suggestion would be to talk to your doctor about it and have some tests run to rule out any heart involvment.  That will give you peace of mind and that could help with the situation.  Anxiety can cause your heart to pound, too.  But, we are not doctors.  I know I would be checked out.  Hope this helps.

Oh wow...mine does that too - but I never really mentioned it to anybody because I didn't really know how to explain it and I thought it was just weird...I love these forums...they make me feel normal. Well not normal -haha - I'm a pretty strange person in general, but not so much of a medical anomaly as I usually feel.

I go through this too, and I had to take the tests to rule out heart problems, because I scared myself, and ended up in the hospital with a panic attack (thinking it was a heart attack:) Once I found out it was only anxiety, I don't let the "scary thoughts" take over my common sense now :) Hope you get to feeling better :)

Thanks guys! Every time some new weird symptom starts up I get all anxious about it wondering if something REALLY bad is about to happen. Its good to know this is just more fibro stuff. I will check with the doctor tho...I'm trying to find a new one right now - I haven't had alot of luck with finding a sympathetic one but I'm going to keep working on it.
I get the panic/anxiety attacks too which I hate even more so maybe the two problems ARE related.
