Hey, I know it's kind of a rare condition but I was wondering if any of you had heard of arachnoid cysts. I have two in my brain and I wonder all the time how much is fibro fog and how much is them. My neurologist insists I just have ADHD, which is impossible, so I'm going to see one at the Cleveland Clinic in two weeks. It has become increasingly important to me to go because I am getting headaches constantly now, and not just the usual tension ones. They aren't severe but they're always there. I want to know that the cysts aren't growing and messing with my brain. I need my brain!

I was just wondering if anyone else knew of any abnormalities on an MRI or CAT scan.

I am going to ask the new doc if he thinks my cysts have anything at all to do with the FM or are maybe causing some things that I chalk up to the FM. I'll keep you guys posted.

Diagnosed with arachnoid cysts February 2002, fibromyalgia February 2008.

I think I should stop getting diagnostics done in February...

I have never heard of these before with fibromyalgia.  I'm glad you are getting it checked out and  you couldn't go to a better place than the Cleveland Clinic!  I used to live in the Cleveland area and had surgery and many tests done there and they are really terrific.  I'm sure they'll take good care of you.  They are wonderful there.

Let us know how your appointment goes for you.  We really do care.

hi Sandi

I have arachnid cyst located in frontal lobe. It was 2.7cm in diameter about a year ago.
In next couple of month I will have my MRI done to check up on its grow.

Little about me;
Name: Radion, Male, born in 1991, live in Canada
Started with headaches about 2 years ago.
From there on had different symptoms so the diagnosis was going something like this:

Water poisoning > Stress > "You are just making this up" > Nerve inflammation due to increased antibody count > Bulged disk > Drug induced > detox > Lupus > "We have no idea, Here go to rheumatologist" > Arthritis > Fibromyalgia

After detox I stopped taking any medication.

Right now I am stuck with these:
Brain fog;
Muscle spasm;
Random vibrations on the skin;
VERY BAD MEMORY (I counted 3 days is the average time length I can remember);
Carpal tunnel in my both hands;
Sore knees and elbows;
Numbness of both arms, not related to carpal tunnel;
Headache 24/7 (rarely have pain free day, maybe once a month will have few hours pain free! Those are happy days!);
In middle of the night feeling little earthquake;
Auditory hallucinations (playback of things I heard during the day or day before);
Muscle weakness;
Sore ribs and chest plate;
Heart beat some times seems disturbed which causes little black outs and breath shortness (I use the trick that jet plane pilots use where they contract muscles in stomach area which causes blood to flow back up into my little brain. turn Saves me from fainting few times every single day when I bend over or look up or get up from sitting);
I have exact same symptoms that people with bulged spinal disks have, although my disk are fine;
Joints hurt a lot from physical load or a lots of movement.

As far as blood work and tests go I am healthy as a bull and my cyst is not related to any of the symptoms. At least that is what doctor says rolleyes

Sandi -

It sounds like you are doing all you can. I have never heard of this with Fibro, either. We are, indeed, here for you! :)

Maybe I'm not seeing a post....but it seems that Sandi wrote this thread back in 2008 and hasn't been back since?

The reason I'm asking is that Debbie, a Moderator responded so that is why maybe there are posts that I am not seeing where someone updated?
SB (Snowbunny) and the pup that snores (my yellow lab:))

3, two-level, cervical fusions over the past 11 years. The last one was anterior and posterior with lots of fun titanium!
Still have active herniations along with knee problems and another Morton's neuroma in left foot.
I try to find joy in each day even with chronic pain:)
