I was not yet dignosed with fibromyalgia but I am sure I have a lot of symptoms.  This July I had mono but never got rid of the pain I had.  My doctor said my ebstein barr was high and my spleen was enlarged.  I still have pain in my left arm, bad consptiaton, dizzy, can't sleeep, Pain in my stomach on both sides, bladder problems, bright light and sunlight bothers my eyes, I cant walk long distances walking in the grocery store makes me exhausted, I get side effects to all medication, pelvic pain I just feel like my life is over.  Lately the pain in my sides or very bothersome I cant even drive.  My doctor referred me to a rhematolgist said there is something with my immune system and a trace of blood in my urine.  I am just tired of being poked and I real want to find out what is wrong.  Anyone else with the same symptoms?

I have hip and knee pain quite often. Lights often invoke feeling of anxiousness when they're too bright or over-powering.

I went through all the tests to rule out everything and it took 3 months of constant doctor appointments and trips to different towns to get tested and after that 3 months my doctor told me all my tests were clear and that she suspected I had Fibro.

I hadn't even heard of Fibro before... but it made things make so much sense.

As soon as I read the symptoms and knew that my tests were clear I was sure I had Fibro but Fibro I'm finding comes along with a lot of other baggage (other things wrong with you) so I'd make sure that you get all the tests you can to make sure that something that's wrong with you isn't hidden by the pain :) Any little thing you can learn that will help you increase your quality of life is valuable.

Good luck!

Hi, Anne, and welcome!  Check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There is a lot of info about fibromyalgia there along with a list of symptoms.  You may see yourself there.
It is very important that your doctor rule out other illnesses first.  Fibro mimics other diseases so you will need a lot of blood work to rule out other things.  Actually, on the Fibro 101 thread, there is a link to "What Else Could It Be?"  You might want to click on that and see why you need other things ruled out.
I'm so sorry you are having all of these problems.  It just doesn't seem fair, does it.  But, you will get answers to why you are having these problems and then can get the proper help.  Let us know what you find out.  We really do care!

First, welcome to the boards! I'm so sorry that you are going through all these symptoms. And the thing with fibro, you can't pinpont exactly what is wrong and say, this is what you have, fix it. But the same is true about so many other conditions. I hoep you can things sorted out soon and get on with healing. I know that beginning can be very frustrating. I started having major symptoms in May; I finally have a rheumy appointment for March! But you will find this forum has a wealth of information, and it's good to know you're not alone.
Waiting for appointment with rheumy (March 2009) to get an official dx. waiting, waiting, waiting....
Taking malic acid/magnesium combo, what a life saver! and amitriptyline

Hi Anne and welcome. Yes, we feel like lab rats by the time we get a dx but there are so many things that have to be ruled out before we can get a fibro dx. Is the pain in your sides in the ribs??? It sounds like you have a few things going on so hopefully they will get to the bottom of it all soon.
Ask questions, read threads and we will be here for you.
luv and hugs
