any tips for knee pain?

For some reason the knees seem to get worse with walking, but all my joints are hurting all the time, even in bed in the middle of the night.

I already exercise every day and do a lot of the stretches described in the stretching thread. I try to eat anti-inflammatory foods every day.

Any other tips for easing the knee pain? I have exercises to help the other joints, but the knees seem to be stubbornly sore, so I'm stuck and looking for inspiration and advice.

I have the same problem with my knees... I've been meaning to look into something that I can wear on my knees to keep them warm when I go for a walk.. because I find if I wear gloves it helps with the pain in my hands and wrists. I also take a lot of rests... and bathe in hot water more often if my knees are at their worst.

All taken at night to help me sleep and stop dreaming and it still doesn't help :P

I understand the painful knees. Doctors make such a big issue about exercise helping to relieve our symptoms. They fail to say, we will still feel pain after all of that hard work. Okay, I will admit I feel better when I exercise than when I do not.

Back to you. When my knees hurt I try to exercise with my legs straight instead of bent, I find that working the muscles above and below the knee is less painful. After I do this for a couple of weeks, I find that everything feels better.

I also put heat on my knees and massage them.

I purchased warm snow boots that come up to my knees and smartwool brand knee socks this year. I have long johns but will order some silk ones soon. those are supposed to keep you warm.

So far the boots have helped my feet and knees to feel better. I cill easily because I use a power chair outside of my home.

If you can get to a pool or jacuzzi just go and relax in it. HOt showers help but I find it is too much work to take a shower every time my knees hurt. lol
