I asked about skin sensitivity but wondered if anyone has joint cracking along with fibro.  I sound like a box or Rice Krispies as I walk across the room..mainly neck, knees and ankles.  I bent over to  kiss my husband this morning and he jumped from the sound like he had been shot!

Thanks,

Donna

We have a Rice Krispies Club in this forum!  turn    Honest!  We have talked about that a lot.  I get the popping in my fingers.  If I make a fist, when I open my hand my fingers pop.  I have one finger that I have to manually straighten.

I know others talk about their necks popping.  I could be popping more that I realize but just can't hear it!  smilewinkgrin    I'm sure others will be on soon with their experiences.

According to one of my physical therapists, my joints crackle because they are not used enough. I do not have arthritis so his explanation sounds good to me.

Since I began the habit of exercising every day, my parts are quieter.

However, my son is a ballet dancer and he has very noisy knees.

I can voluntarily crack my jaw, neck, back, wrists, thumbs, knuckles, lower finger joints, toes, and even my nose because the bit of cartilage in the middle is detached from the rest (I have no idea how that happened, I only remember that it hurt really bad for no reason for a long time). I have unwittingly cracked my elbows, knees, ankles, and hips many times. Nobody has ever told me that it was anything to be concerned about. I've been able to do all of these things for a long time before the fibro so I don't think that, for me, there's any connection.

I snap, crack, & pop all over. My toes, ankles knees, hips, shoulders, neck, elbows, wrists, & fingers all lock and crack. I had PT over the summer and early fall. The therapists worked on my shoulder and couldn't believe how loud it was or how my shoulder jumped. All my parts lock and I have to gently move them to release them. I'm afraid to move too fast for fear I will snap the bone. My ankles lock and sometimes when I go to walk, the foot doesn't lift up and I trip. I don't drink, but I look like I've been out on a bender. I don't leave my house now w/o my quad cane, it gives me some support.

While typing this, I've had to crack my hands several times. Between the FMS and the arthritis, it's enough to drive ya crazy.

My DH and I have been married 31 yrs, all of which I've had arthritis and FMS, he is so used to my noise - I can't sneak up on him. smilewinkgrin

I can pop almost every joing in my body - I don't know why but I'm always popping my fingers, my knees, my neck - its almost a compulsion thing for me to do. I've never really talked to a doctor about it. I stopped popping my back because its become very painful for me over the last couple months to move my back at all let alone twisting it around to crack it. The guys in my family used to pop their fingers and backs and necks - so it wasn't just me and my FMS. My shoulders do some weird stuff - I can pop them and they make this loud sound - so loud that I can gross out my boyfriend's fraternity brothers. Its a source of pride for me. Probably not very good for me, but like I said - its like a compulsion - though I'd love to stop. The weird thing I do is pop my jaw - this I would LOVE to stop - I keep trying but its hard to stop. Like Sherrine said - Rice Krispie Club. We could have a lot of clubs on here...

Hi Vesta and Welcome-

I get the Snap, Crackle and Pop in SO many areas of my body now that I have fibro.

I also have TMJ and my right jaw clicks and creaks opening and closing it. Where's the WD-40? :)
