Okay I'm new to the whole fibro thing. I just got my flu shot at work and I know that there's always pain where they inject you, but OMG it feels like the pain is in my shoulder and all the way down my arm to my fingers!! I feel like a huge baby, but I really feel like I'm about to cry from the pain! Is this due to Fibro? Has anyone else had a reaction like this from a flu shot? Help!!! cry

Yep it does hurt A LOT my doc got me last week...luckily I asked the nurse if the shot had side effects...she said "Your arm will hurt" So I took it in the left! 4 DAYS it was SO sore..it will pass...if you think that one hurts wait until your next booster...yikes...

Hi, Honeyprincess!  No, you were not stupid.  You were very, very wise to get your flu shot.  It sounds like a nerve was hit when they administered the shot.  I had my flu shot in October and I didn't feel a thing...not even tenderness so it's not the fibro causing this.  I'm sure it will feel better soon.

Boy, Allie, I rarely have had even tenderness and I've been getting flu shots for two decades!  I know some nurses are better than others at giving shots and drawing blood.  Maybe  you have a bad one!

I don't want to scare you........and you may recover from your shot fairly quickly.......But that happened to me about 15 years ago, and it caused me years of pain. I agree with Sherrine, that it may have it a nerve. Can you put a heating pad on it and take some NSAIDS for a couple days?
My pain moved from my arm to my shoulder to my neck/chest/back. I never really knew if it hit a nerve, or it was just my funky reaction to it.....but I never got another flu shot! Good luck to you.

Sorry to hear that the shot was so bad.  It bothered me for a few days but then I was fine.  Just tell yourself it is better than getting the flu, that would be much worse.  It would be for me anyway; it would take me off my feet for a few weeks.

Take care, things will get better :-) .

Several yrs. ago my husband had a flu shot in one arm and a pneumonia shot in the other arm. Can't remember which shot (surprise!) but the nurse hit something and he had tremendous pain, that has tapered off to a achy pain still in the one arm. The other arm is fine. I'm sorry you're having a bad time right now, I do hope it subsides soon. At least you shouldn't be bothered by the flu, I had it last yr and it refused to leave for ages. It was my new best friend sad .

Hope you feel better soon, and welcome to the family!

God bless.  Alice.
