OK, so we're on to a different drug since I have not been tolerating even low doses of effexor very well. Getting rid of the Pamelor, also. Increasing the Tramadol to four times a day.  I'm bad though, because if I'm not having pain, I don't take it.  I know, I know, I have to stay on top of the pain.  The tramadol makes me...I'm not sure if drowsy is the right word, but i wake up with a hangover after I've taken it.
I tried Lyrica and Cymbalta last summer, and couldn't tolerate those at all.
So...what are the chances I will have side effects from the Gabapentin?  I'm guessing pretty high, as it seems like I'm pretty chemically sensitive.
I did check out the side effects online, but wondering if anyone here can share their personal experience, good or bad.  I realize we all react different to each med, but it helps to hear what people have dealt with on this drug.

I am like you and have had alot of side effects from medications also, but I wanted to let you know that I take Gabapentin,Tramadol and Cymbalta and along with others and have no problems at all. I started Gabapentin about 11 months ago after a abnormal sleep study. I know everyone is different when it comes to medications, but I never had any problems and it along with Ambien finally allowed me to sleep thoughout the night forf the first time in years! Good luck,

I've taken two doses of Neurontin (Gabapentin).  Both times, I took the pill at bedtime. I slept well, but woke up with massive headaches and dizziness.  I didn't notice any improvement in my pain.  I don't think I'll continue with it just from the headache and dizziness concerns.  Yucky!

I took neurontin and it made me stutter. I don't know why but it did. So I went off of it. This was when I first found out that I had fibromyalgia. Though it did help with the nerve pain.

Hope that it works for you.
