Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 54 this year and have FM, Costochondritis and Spondylosis. I am currently off work with a bad flare of both FM and costo and doped up on Tramadol, Diclofenac, Nortriptyline, anti nausea tablets, tablets I take one a day can't remember the name begins with an O, these are to help my stomach because of the Diclofenac, and also blood pressure tablets as I suffer with Hypertension. So most days I rattle.

I look forward to reading all the postings on the forum.

Hi, Kaylyn, and welcome!  I'm sorry you are dealing with this health issue but you have come to a very good place!  We have wonderful people on this forum that have good ideas to help you live a full and enjoyable life with fibromyalgia.

Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There is a lot of good info about fibro.  You will find a list of symptoms, some great stretching exercises that really do work, and other goodies.

I have both costo and fibromyalgia and my doctor has me taking ibuprofen, with food to protect my stomach, and it does help me.  I take ibuprofen and Tylenol for pain for the fibro and I also take malic acid/magnesium supplements for pain and fatigue.  These have really helped me but they don't work for everyone.  There is a link in the Fibro 101 thread all about them.  Why don't you read it and see what you think!

I'm so glad you joined us.  Read post and don't hesitate to ask questions.  That's what we're here for.  I hope to hear more from you soon!

Kaylyn,

With all that rattling, is it hard to sneak up on people? :-)   LOL  My body makes so much noise (wow-that didn't sound right!). blush   What I meant to say is that my joints make a lot of noise.  Sometimes they sound like popcorn popping.

Anyway, I hope you'll find our family (which is your family now, too) welcoming.  We have a good mix of people of all ages and opinions, so you'll always find someone to relate to.  I hope I didn't scare you away with my babbling.  Sometimes, I just can't shut up. smhair   I'm sure it's a symptom of the fibro. smilewinkgrin

FINALLY dxd with fibro on 06/13/08
Vicodin, Neurontin, Ibuprofen for pain-which doesn't help, BTW
Zoloft & methadone (NOT for pain) for sanity-which doesn't help, BTW
Klonopin for anxiety (Guess what?  Doesn't help!)
Chantix (quit smoking 08/29/08)
