I have just discovered one of the cautions with Lexapro (and all SSRI's) is to not take any kind of NSAID as it may cause intestinal bleeding.  This info is not on the packaging(I get free samples and there is no insert) so I have been popping ibruprofen for fibro pain ever since I started Lexapro 8 months ago.

Have any of you on SSRI's had any problem with bleeding?  I'm allergic to most narcotic drugs for pain and Tylenol is laughable.  I called the pharmacy I use yesterday and got on a menu in four different languages, got to listen to Muskrat Love for about five minutes in the background, "If I am a doctor, press 1, if I want to renew a  prescription press 2, pharmacy hours press 3, directions to our store, press 4...OMG!  As soon as it stops blizzarding here, I'll go in person but just thought I'd ask on this forum in the mean time.

Donna, I've never heard of not being allowed to take NSAIDS while taking an SSRI. Yes, NSAIDS can cause intestinal bleeding, but I have never heard of the risk increasing while taking SSRI's. Let us know what you find out..... Blessings, Julie

I've never heard of that either, but I do know that I'm on Zoloft, and its doing a number on my GI tract. Maybe when some people add an NSAID to that, its just too hard on it??
Thanks alot Donna..........now I'm going to be singing "Muskrat Love" all day!! lolol! (Just the other day I was wondering what the Captain and Tenille are doing these days!)
