hi, i'm new to posting on this forum, but have been lurking for a month or so  wink i'm 43 yrs old, married with a 12-yr old daughter and live on the east coast of canada.

i was officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a rheumatologist in may of this year, but have had symptoms since a car accident in 1999.

i've tried several different medications since i first saw my own doctor about my worsening symptoms in january and am currently on 60 mg of cymbalta in the morning with 10 mg of flexeril before bed, taking tylenol or advil as needed. the cymbalta seems to be helping and, after the initial 2-3 week adjustment period, i've had no side effects from it.

i'm glad to have found this forum ~ it's great to know i'm not alone and that others can easily relate to what i'm going through.

Hi, Payroll Lady and welcome to the fibromyalgia forum.  While you were reading, I hope you found the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There is a lot of good info about fibro in that thread.  There are links to symptoms, some great stretching exercises that really do work, and some other goodies.  Check it out!

Don't hesitate to ask questions.  That's what we're here for.  You will usually get many responses when you ask.

I'm so glad you found us.  We have a good group of people here that will help you live a full and enjoyable life with fibro.  And, as a bonus, we really care about each other!  So, welcome to our fibro family!  Hope to hear more from you soon.

Sherrine

Hi there! I'm fairly new here, too, but enjoy checking in daily, and have already felt welcome and had some questions answered.

It's good to have folks to talk to that understand what you're going through - I'm grateful to have found this site!
