My ANA test was borderline positive.  My Rheumy doubt if its lupus- she think its fibro.  But why would I have a borderline test result??  So I think its probably lupus - (I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK ANYMORE).  I'm 39 and I'm not overweight or anything..but for since I have been having a flare for the past month.. I have had events of sleep apnea (waking up gasping for air). I'm schedule for a sleep study next month.
I was in the hospital last week for dizziness and muscle pain/weakness... MRI"S and CAT SCANS ETC..(NEG).
I'M taking Cymbalta, and a med for acid reflux. Motrin as needed.
I also have been having balance problems, pains in my ear canal, mucsles etc, vision feels different too.  I have been visiting doctors off and on for 10 years about all of this.  I'm getting stressed and depressed behind it.
Last night.. I felt like I stop breathing for a min and it feel like my left arm and neck went numb (a powerful numb sensation) it lasted for about 15 seconds and then I went back to sleep (might as well, tired of running to the ER every week).  Anyone experience something like this..???

I could have written your post for you-it sounds exactly what I go through on a daily basis.  I had 2 different low positive ANAs, but my rheumy didn't want to say I had lupus.  He decided that I had fibro and I might have lupus (or another one of the millions of auto-immune diseases).  Honestly, I don't know if I have sleep apnea, but sometimes I do wake up gasping for air.  BTW-I am overweight (and have an extremely large chest). rolleyes

I have terrible balancing problems, too.  Sometimes I am just standing there and I lose my balance-for some unknown reason. confused   I do have periods of numbness in my hands and feet, but like you, it doesn't usually last very long.  BTW-I totally hear you on the not wanting to go to the ER every night.  Besides it costing you money and time, the doctors and nurses think you are crazy (or drug seeking). mad

Right now, I'm in the middle of trying to get disability, I just moved back in with my parents (talk about stressful and humiliating) because of lack of money, and I still don't have an answer of what else I have (besides fibro).  If my hair wasn't already falling out (yet another unexplained symptom), I'd tear it out myself. wink  Oh, BTW, I'm almost 37 (my birthday is the 29th), and even though I was dxd with fibro this past June, I've had these weird symptoms for at least 20 years. sad

Anyway, I don't know if anything that I've said has helped you.  I do hope you know that you are not alone.  If you ever just need to talk to someone, email me.  Ask anyone here, I'll talk both your ears off. smilewinkgrin

FINALLY dxd with fibro on 06/13/08
Vicodin, Neurontin, Ibuprofen for pain-which doesn't help, BTW
Zoloft & methadone (NOT for pain) for sanity-which doesn't help, BTW
Klonopin for anxiety (Guess what?  Doesn't help!)
Chantix (quit smoking 08/29/08)

It was very kind of you to reply back.

Well I had a bunch of lupus tests done when I was being diagnosed with fibro. I also had one test that was slightly positive, but I don't remember if it was ana or another one. Anyway since the rest of my tests came back fine my rheumatologist concluded that it wasn't lupus.

When I was recently diagnosed with fibro, my ANA was also positive. My doc said it was either my birth control pills or Hasimoto's. Either way, they tested me for Lupus, and all the tests came back negative.
