I was wondering how long it takes for it to kick in, if at all?

Thanks :)

Hi, Mouse, and welcome!  I take the malic acid/magnesium supplements and it took several weeks for them to kick in.  I did start out slowly, as should you, since they can cause diarrhea.  All of the info about them is in a link in the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  Read it and see what you think!

Meanwhile, read posts and keep asking questions.  We are here to help you.  Hope to hear more from you soon!

Hi Mouse, I don't want to discourage you, but I took M/M supplements for five months and they didn't do me any good. I had been so hopeful, because there are no pain meds that work for me, plus my fatigue is really bad. But I think the supplements have helped more people than not, so good luck. Diane

Hi Mouse. I agree with Diane. I took the supplement for months without any change. I do still take a magnesium supplement in the evening because I was having problems with muscle spasms in my leg. That pretty much stopped it. Sorry I don't have a good malic acid/mag story for you. Lisa

your body usually takes up to 1 month to adjust to anything new in your system.... so make sure you don't go to fast... you should only increase at one month intervals.... for me i have been on it just over a month... i have noticed that the cramping and charlie horses have gone.. but it will take a while for it to kick in
It is also a good idea to start taking extra calcium and vitamin d at the same time as they both help in the absorption of both malic acid and the mag....

if it tells you to take two pills with food start with one... then after two weeks do the two but one in the morning and one at night....

hope that helps
