It's 1:45 Pacific Time on Thursday afternoon. I forgot to take my painkillers to work this morning. I was hoping to stay til 2 but came home at 1 and the pain is too much to bear.

So I'm trying to distract myself somehow...so I came here.

Can anybody come on and chit-chat to take my mind off this?
Anybody into Politics? (Canadian or American)...I could chat about that for a while

Sorry Schutz; Missed your crisis. Today we went over to our falling down house to pick up a pure white cat who was so lonesome for her sister (littermates), that she was set to die. She would not eat or drink. I couldn't leave her like that. So, although we're not supposed to have cats here, I have two pure whites. One has a blue eye and a brown eye.

I wonder if your current meds are still working for you? I had been on Tramadol for a few months a couble of years back and became tolerant to it so it really didn't do the job. I'm sorry the amyltriptilene isn't working for you. Sometimes I find that's the only med that takes the spinal and neck and back pain away. Of course I have to lay down after I take it. Best of luck. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks guys...I just missed ya by a couple of hours. I finally got some relief after the second dose of Tramadol. It seems to take a couple of doses to work.

Today is Saturday morning and I'm actually considering being taken to Christmas shop in my mom's wheelchair that's in our garage (my mom died in January). Can you believe that? A wheelchair! What has my life come to?

Since I did all my shopping online, I may just stay home and let the others go skipping about through the mall.

Anyway....today is a better day. As was yesterday!

Schutz,
I've done the wheel chair thing on several occasions when the pain was too bad.
Don't know if this will help your pain but it will certainly clean your computer screen.

ha ha ha! Thanks Jeannie! There was some other fun stuff on that site, too - like old-fashioned TETRIS! And other great time-wasters... next time I'm home alone in horrible pain I'll look up this thread and go back!

And here I thought you really had a great way to clean my laptop screen.   devil  I added that to my favorites Jeannie.

It's not the pain that gets to me shopping it's the energy. I only have six little ones to buy for from 5-12 and I hope I can find everything at Toys R Us in one trip. Oh I also have GD birthday gift to buy for her birthday next weekend, she will be 7. Why do people have children so close to Christmas???

I've not used one of the electric carts and wouldn't even know how but if I have to go to several stores to find everything I might try one out. Since I have to drive so far to do my shopping I would rather use one and be able to get it all done in one day than have to make more than one trip because of energy.

luv and hugs

Schutz,
Sorry I wasn't on earlier to see this. I am really not into politics...they kind of pi$$ me off. Are you into books? I love books? What would you like to talk about? I am so sorry that you are in so much pain. I know how it feels. Right now, I am sitting at the computer, unable to do anything but sit around because it hurts me to just stand up. I feel your pain. I am here for you. Hang in there sweetie.

*soft hugs*

Thanks Kitty! I'm actually good today. It was Thursday I was totally messed up.
Yesterday was a real expedition going shopping in a wheelchair. It was kind of a cool perspective, actually - I learned a lot. But hopefully it's a ONCE-A-YEAR thing!

I love politics - Canadian or American. And Cdn or American history, and the history of politics. LOL - geekoid-o-rama...
I love books, too. I read mostly non-fiction actually. (And don't ask what!) But sometimes I read novels. I just read the latest John Grisham novel and speaking of being pi$$ed off! What a horrible crap novel!

Anyway, thanks again for the nice comments everyone! See ya

Schutz,
If you like to read novels, you might try the "In Death" series by J.D. Robb. They are really great books. I am addicted to them.

hey schutz,

i know this is very off topic, but can i ask you what in the heck is going on in canada right now?? we get a canadian channel on our cable, and i caught a news report about someone from quebec trying to get the p.m. ousted, but i didn't catch enough to figure out exactly what the issue is.

anyway..just curious about that. i'm kind of a political junkie myself (i come by it honestly-my mom has her master's in political science and my dad is a cnn addict, so i grew up with political talk, talk, talk all over the place) but sadly don't know a lot about what's going on in canada. (which i should, since it's just RIGHT THERE from where i live! )
