Me too! I can't control the carb cravings...the chocolate-thing is unreal. I made the hubby go out in a blizzard last night and buy chocolate...he came home with three bags of dark chocolate chocolate chips and said "I hope this holds you over for a few days." I have even gotten up in the middle of the night craving something sweet. I have always been a carb addict, but it has gotten worse since on Lexapro. I blame it on that. I also eat raisin bread...I crave it.
I want to think it's the meds...
Sherrine...I crave potatoes too. Sometimes I fry them with onions and peppers for lunch, then eat a baked potato for dinner. If I'm too lazy to peel them, I'll make a huge pile of instant potatoes for a snack. This is bad for the hubby because he has trouble with his sugar too, likes potatoes and watching me chow them down tortures him!
i crave carbs with the same intensity i use to crave nicotine. my pyschiatrist says its my Zoloft- i dont know, but its like i need a fix! i get all edgy when i cant have carbs, and as a result i have put on a depressing amount of weight. but i NEED cake, biscuits, pasta etc, not to mention the chocolate... im so glad im not alone with this! now- how do i fix it?
Pancakes smothered in syrup, yum. I crave carbs something terrible; I take nortriptyline. I used to be in tip top shape then I started on the nortriptyline and the craving started something fierce and I have put on about 25lbs. How depressing! I am determined to take it back off though and I'm confident that I will. I could not do without the meds, as a matter of fact just today I started getting an old familiar pain that I had before I started with the nortriptyline. I think by the new year I will need to increase the medicine. The remember the immediate relief that I felt when I started the medicine and with each increase things got better. I cannot live without the medicine!!
If anyone finds a cure for these cravings, please let me know. Until then, bring on the dark chocolate .
