I just had a pregnancy scare! shocked

ok, a little background. Dh and I were married 6 years before #1 came along. After 4 years of 'not hindering things', we saw a doctor that took many tests and followed us for a year. At the end of that, I had a laparoscopy. He didn't find very much endo, but yet the next month, I was pregnant!

We wanted the kids 2-3 years apart, so when ds was 2 we started trying... for a year. We then went back to the same doctor, who did another laparoscopy. And yes, the next month I was pregnant! (so they are 4 years 2 months apart)

When I convinced dh for #3, we agreed that there would be no surgery. If it was meant to be, it would happen, but we started trying right away when I got my period back, at 6 months. I got pregnant right away, lol. (these 2 are 16 months apart)

Since we are not young parents, that was supposed to be it. But dh procrastinated getting a vasectomy. #4 was conceived using protection 2 weeks before his surgery was due. He was still limping from the recovery when I told him the good news! devil It turned out great though, as we had 2 boys then 2 girls smilewinkgrin

So as you can see, each one seemed to be easier and easier...

My breasts had been hurting for a week. (Is this fibro too?) So I was looking at my calendar and saw that I was 5 days late! smhair OMG, how can this happen? I've heard of vasectomies reversing, but the odds? And 2 unplanned pregnancies? I'm too old and tired to do this again!!

Seriously, I was starting to freak out. I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to stay calm, not succeeding, and imagining this new turn. What would I tell dh? Yet I was incredulous.

Turns out my math was off by a week! lmbo

Oh my gosh! I was scared for you just reading your post! I did laugh tho once I got to the end, esp. about getting pregnant two weeks before his procedure. That little one knew she was destined for your world.

Posted 12/10/2008 12:47 AM (GMT -6) the end it was a great laugh...but I'm sure you weren't laughing at for a day or two. I still crack up when I have to fill out a new questionnaire at a doctor's office...and they ask "is there a chance you may be pregnant?" I've put some silly answers, I have to admit.

aaahh!! i got scared and panicky just reading your story! lol i can not imagine having another child at this point, and even though i am "fixed", the fact that there are people out there who have gotten pregnant after having their tubes tied scares me! glad to hear it all worked out for you in the end:)

as for the breast pain, mine get terribly sore in the week to two weeks before my period, but i also have fibrocystic breast disease (which my doctor says is just a fancy term for "lumpy boobs").

Mamanan- I have had a few scares like that in my lifetime and can relate!

At 35 yrs old and my second marriage the scare turned into a "real" baby and he is my 17 yr. old son!  :-)   I did not want anymore children as my oldest was almost 15. I remember doing a home pregnancy test and when it read that I was pregnant I had to sit on the edge of the bed because I thought I was going to faint. shocked

He has been such a joy. Both my boys are the top two blessings of my life.

Chutz- I too laugh at the Dr's or Dentist office when it asks if you are pregnant. I'm like - OH, those days are "SO" done!!!!
