I have never heard of this but I'm printing it out as I type this!  I'm seeing my doctor in 1 1/2 weeks and will ask him about this.  Thanks for sharing!

I actually heard mention of it on a radio talk show today so went looking for info. Studies date back to 2005-2006 so it's strange the info hasn't spread.

I found D-Ribose at one of the online health stores here in Canada so have already ordered some. The recommended dose on the bottle is 1 teaspoon 3x a day which is what the study I linked to above used. Looks like the supplement manufacturers knew about this even if we didn't :)

I'll try it for a month and report back then if not sooner.

Russ

Hi,

This is encouraging b/c it is now proven that oxygen depletion is a definite clinical finding in fibro. When measuring O2 levels in a fibro muscles they are always deficient. Now I have exhausted research for one year and not been able to confirm if the depletion is at the cellular level which ribose would treat. I personally believe the oxygen deficit is our brains (unconscious) trying to keep things it feels are unbearable away from the conscious mind. I am a follower of Dr John Sarno, Rusk Institute NYC and his entire career has been devoted to this theory. NOW understand this a complex area but so very little is known about how the brain really functions. There is no medicine for this theory so western medicine has naturally shunned Dr. Sarno. He's worth reading and fibro is a major thing he works on. Unfortunately he is in his late 80's and ONLY treats people in or around NYC. BUT I have contacted many of his patients and they have been cured, who knows!!!! But we have to continue to forge ahead to learn all we can. God knows medicine is nowhere yet..

Keep us posted on the therapy.

Thanks, Patsie
