How did I do it? How did I live without this wonderful TENS unit? Oh lord...I just got one today and this thing is a freakin' god send!

Question though...is there anything bad that can happen if you leave it on too long? I've seriously been sitting here at work with it on for the past 5 hours.  I mean I'm not gonna end up all twitchy and looking like a reject from a science experiment if I use this a lot right?

Just wanted to make sure cuz I've got enough health issues...I don't wanna add to them! lol

After reading your post I did some research on the TENs unit and I was just curious, how did you get it? Did you need a perscription?

I want more info too HoneyPrincess :) Sounds great :)

I don't know if a person needs a script or not, because you can buy them all over the internet :) The main thing I would like to know too, how long is safe to leave it on?

P.S.  I read some more info on them, and it does say consult your PCP before use, to not only have their approval, but to make sure the pain you have has been acurately identified :)

Much Love, Hugs, Peace & Comfort :)

I am so happy that you are getting relief from your TENS unit. It is nice when you find out something that works for you. I hope it continues.

Hugs, Karen

I called my insurance company to see if it was covered because the physical therapist wanted to give it to me because I'm in therapy for twisted/spasmy pelvic floor muscles that mis-aligned my hips and now i have really bad low back bain that radiates out thru my hips and down my legs. My ins co said that they would cover the unit at 100% up to $3500. My PT sent an order to the referring doctor, which was my endometriosis specialist at U of M who calls in the script. My ins said it had to be medically necessary (which it would be) and that it would have to be called in by the doctor. Instead of going to a store or ordering one, I was lucky enough that my PT had a couple of units at their facility that they could just give me :-) She had said there's no side effects or anything to it, but I just wanted to make sure because I know some people on here have them for their Fibro too. It really feels like a miracle worker!!!

Great huh HoneyPrincess??? I ordered mine online from Medical Products Online without a rx. Since I can't take narcotics mine is a godsend too. I've probably had it close to a year.

Don't put the pads near your heart.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation Donna, it interrupts the pain signals to the brain. I put two pads as close as I can to the base of the skull for all over pain.

luv and hugs

My doctor ordered me one about 8 years ago while I was still working in a factory. He told me I could wear it all day if I needed to, so I don't think it would matter, but it's always safe to find out.

My sister has Fibro also and when I went to visit she tried mine out. She ended up buying hers at her local pharmacy. I was surprised, but maybe you can find them at certain pharmacies now. It would be better with a doctor's order so your insurance will help with payment.

I like to use mine when I am propped up in bed watching t.v. in the evenings. It helps with my shoulder and neck pain. I've even used it on my legs when they are aching. Glad you got one and that it is helping. I call mine my back up buddy because when all else fails, I get it out.
