Hi everyone! I have really been having problems with a deep burning sensation mostly in my back, but also in my neck.  It tingles and burns very badly. Only ice seems to help temporarily with the pain. Lyrica was helping for awhile, but now it seems worse again. It is like a nerve ending type pain. If anyone else has this can you tell me, and also if you know of anything that helps please let me know.  Thanks! Hope

Hi...besides The Fog, burning is my major pain symptom. My thighs burn almost all the time, my back and my 'arm flab' too.  The only thing that relieves it is soaking in a hot bath tub.  You said ice helped yours but cold makes mine worse.  Don't really have an answer for this one...just wanted to tell you I get this too!

I went through two weeks of the burning pain all over my body the first part of June. That was from trying to cut back on amitriptyline, won't do that again.

I do get some burning pain that feels like acid running through my veins but that is when the weather is changing and doesn't last that long.

My feet burn and tingle and doc said that was neuropathy.

Since I don't take narcotics about the only thing I could do when it was really bad was use the TENS unit.

I hope you get some relief from it soon Hope. Could they up your lyrica???

luv and hugs

I suffer from intense burning in my neck which seems like the nerves , the pain kept getting worse until intolerable.  Muscle relaxants helped a little but eventually I went to a pain spec who also specialises rheumy.  I had no choice but to wear a narcotic patch and now I am almost pain free, enough that I can manage.  Lyrica helps also and muscle relaxants.. but eventually I needed more but I still use the lyrica and valium.   Hope I have helped, to me it felt like nerve pain and always refered to it as that with my doc separate to fibto.good luck with it and I hope it doesnt worsen.   sue2z      Heat packs helped in the early days  I have ones full of wheat that you heat up in micowave. I know exactly what your feeling.  feel free to contact me.  sue2z

I would recommend the heat packs, the bed buddy. It is a tubular bag filled with rice that you microwave. It is warm moist heat and it relaxes the muscles in the neck.

Also if you think it is nerve pain, you might want to ask about neurontin. It is like a generic lyrica, just a little different. Something to think about. Have you mentioned this to your doctor?

Best wishes,

Hugs, Karen

I have a burning pain in my thigh and lower arm. Someone else described it as a feeling of acid under the skin. I thought that was a perfect description.

Hi, I have had the burning pain in my neck, back & shoulders for years. I finally found a great chiro that knew what he was doing. My neck was so out of wack, mainly at the top (atlas & axis). I still get it occasionally but he helped me greatly. Also ice and heat. Good Luck
