Anyone else have elevated uric acid levels, without having gout?
Mine has been elevated for years. The doc says not to worry about it. But I wonder if it somehow is involved with my fibro??

Yes, Cathy, I'm in the high normal range.  He checked for gout because I have a toe that is swollen and it's painful to walk.  But, with gout, if left untreated, it will go away in 10-14 days.  I've had this going on six months!  Don't know what it is.  He gave me something for gout but I'm not taking meds for something I may not have.  If my uric acid was out of the normal range, I would have taken the med.  But, it can cause digestive problems and I have enough of that with Crohn's.  UGH!  Can't win for losing!  mad
 
I have an appointment next Monday to see him.  This is one of my questions.  I'll let you know what he has to say.

I'm another one with uric acid issues.  But mine always makes its way to my big toes..... Gout is not pleasant!  I had to increase my prednisone to get rid of my gout.  Which of course sent my Fibro on a rampage.  Like Sherrine said, "Can't win for losing!"
