It has been a struggle to not smoke-you try living with your parents for 2 months without smoking like crazy smilewinkgrin . But, I have done it...and that's not even the great part of this post.

I am 95% sure that I will have my own place in the next 3 weeks (or even less time than that). My mom has agreed to pay for an apartment until I get my disability approved (and even if it's not approved right away). That means I'll have my freedom back and I won't get yelled at or have to hear rude comments all the time. Obviously, my mom had to put her name down on the application, and this morning I got the call that we were approved and only have to pay a $99 deposit! :-)

I am so happy, I could cry! I get my own computer back (I don't have to put up with Windows Vista anymore-sorry, but I hate it), and the best part is that I can finally have a pet again. I couldn't have one in the place I was in in CA. I've become so used to having Reese (my mom's cat) around, I kind of forgot what it was like to feel that unconditional love of an animal. BTW-I plan to adopt a kitty from the animal shelter, but it has to be the right one for me. So, I'm not gonna rush it.

Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know about my big news. For those of you who have been through all of this with me (my waiting to move home, my move, living with my parents, the fights with my mom, etc) you know what a big deal this is for me. For once, I am a happy fibro girl. Well, I am today, anyway. smilewinkgrin

(Kelly...I edited your title and in the process screwed up the colors and who knows what else...ok dear! shakehead I'm sorry...just wanted people to find your party post.)

Kelly,

That is wonderful!!! Hopefully I will get emails from you again. I know that windows vista can suck. That is what I have heard from many people.

I am so proud of you for not smoking. You are on your way to becoming more healthy.

Take care my friend, keep up the good work.

Congrats on the new appartment!!!

Hugs, Karen

Congrats on quitting smoking and staying with it while living with your mom.  I've heard that quitting is extremely difficult.  Now you will be out of there soon and on your own.  That is so exciting!  Hope your disability gets approved quickly so you will be out from under her completely.  Yay for you!

It's greek and so delicious.  Sherrine could compliment it with a couple of her key lime pies smilewinkgrin   for dessert.  My gift will be the swiffer gift set, the duster and the wet mop.  I think it's a girls best friend cuz you can even clean under your fridge and stove with it, it is that easy!!...now....what to drink.....hmmmmm Meggie has the champagne covered...ummm....what goes good with pie??  Earl grey tea!!!  LOL

Chutz, those are fat free cheesecakes right???

Please keep GamJill away from the champagne cause she does some crazy things when drinking. I won't mention the flamingo incident at the last party.

Shannon, I still haven't gotten my chicken and dumplings.

I know what sounds good, twice baked potatoes with cheese and bacon on top.

You see how fast those diets flew out the window when we started talking about food. turn

Okay Marlee, I've been promising chicken and dumplin's for a long time and I'm out of school for two more days so I'm putting the chicken in the pot.  It doesn't take me long to get the dumplings made because after I roll them out I cut them out with a pizza cutter.  Like a flash all I have to do is drop them in.

I do like hot corn bread and real butter with them and a little mashed potatoes and stuffing on the side.

Ya'll come,  I'm smelling it now.

God Bless!

i was born in the south and my grandma was southern and so was a southern style cook all the way. i still look to those deliciously unhealthy southern dishes when i need some good comfort food!
