We invited some friends for a dinner party this coming Saturday. We haven't seen them for ages as they keep very different hours. I've been dreading it, cause I'm not feeling well and the thought of  having to cook, clean and entertain for hours was looking like an impossible task! I just got an e-mail, they are cancelling cause they have some family visiting from the States! Yahoo! I think this is the best Christmas present I got this year! I am a very happy Alex smilewinkgrin
Actually, I was going to cancel myself but they beat me to it, so now I don't feel guilty!

I'm glad that things worked out for you.  I have been there, too.  But, I usually don't luck out.  I will invite people over and then as the day gets closer I wonder why I didn't keep my mouth shut!  Have a restful Saturday!

Aren't the free gifts sometimes the best?

Enjoy your rest and relaxation.

I'm glad the cancelled on you.
I've been stressing over my 19 yr old pregnant granddaughter moving in with us for the past couple of months and I didn't know how I was going to deal with her coming in from work at 12 every night and everything. She had already moved some of her belongings in cause she had to be out of the apartment she shared with other girls at the college she was going to by the end of the month. At the last minute she was able to find a room in a private home close to where she works. She has applied for government assistance but hasn't heard anything as yet. I can't tell you what a relief it was to me that she will be close to work and won't have to drive in bad weather a long distance, I know she is safe and in a nice place and I can sleep at night cause I won't be waiting for her to come home before I can go to sleep.
This is only temporary and she still may be moving in when it gets close to time to have the baby but she won't be working at that time. I can deal with sitting and rocking the baby while she rest.
So I know what a relief it is when things work out for you when you can't deal with a situation.
luv and hugs
