Just in time because I have my very hyper grand daughter staying for 5 days during her winter break.  The thing that really sucked is with all the extra pain I have been in I cant take any extra meds or I would short myself and I sure wasnt going to call the doctor and ask for more.  I got to tell you though the oh woe is me feeling left real fast when after this snow melted some and I got a good look at where I fell.

I had fallen because this huge old railroad tie on the side of our parking lot got hit when they bulldozed the snow and it was shattered. A chunk of the wood was what I tripped over.  After the snow melted away from the railroad tie I noticed that if I had fallen just a few more inches to the right of me that I would have been impaled by a 10 inch rebar spike!!  and it would have gone through my chest!!  omg it sucked the wind right out of me when I saw that and I thanked God for not letting me hit it.  So I guess things can always be a whole lot worse.  I am enjoying my visit with Lauren.  She is 7 years old and very sweet when shes away from her siblings lol.  She has very long strawberry red hair and big blue eyes and makes me smile all the time.  She is reading at the top of her class and loves to read to me.  This saturday her parents will pick her up and drop off her older brother Jakob for a visit and he is awesome too.  Hope you all have a wonderful New Years!!

Soft Hugs,
Karen

karen,

ouch!! that fall sounds like it was incredibly painful! hopefully they got all of those pieces picked up so that they are no longer a danger to you or anyone else?

your granddaughter sounds so very sweet (and you sound like a very doting grandma:)) i hope you have a wonderful visit with her and your grandson, too.

glad you are feeling a bit better!

I'm glad you are feeling better Karen.  This is a New Year's gift!  Now, don't overdo with your granddaughter!  Have fun.

Sheesh Karen, what a story! Talk about a close call! How is the lip doing?

Enjoy those grandkids- I was supposed to watch my granddaughters today and then spend the night, but ended up sick. Will need to see them as soon as I start to feel better, I miss them terribly!

HI GamJill,

The lip is doing good, about half healed. Still feels wierd when I smoke. The arm and kneee are another story. I see the doc friday and he will be x-raying looking for any hairline fractures since they are both still very swollen and heck the bruises havent even changed colors yet. And what did I wake up to this morning? more snowwwwwwwwww ah geez I cant handle walking on this stuff but they say it will turn to rain so then I can slip and slide on slush lol.
