hello all of my dear fibromite friends:-)

just a little tip for all of you:

if your child comes into your room and wakes you up at 5:00 am because he's thirsty and you realize that you've got a glob of goopy gunk in your nose, head, and chest AGAIN, after you get him his water and see that he uses the bathroom and get him back off to sleep, do NOT get online and look up why you might have globs of goopy gunk in your nose, head, and chest because if you do, you will find all sorts of scary information and immediately become convinced that you have copd, which of course will kick your anxiety into overdrive, which of course means you'll have a panic attack and won't be able to get back to sleep for several hours, which of course means when you do get up you will feel like you were hit by a mac truck during the night.

no, dear friends, do not do any of this. if per chance you ARE woken up at 5:00 am by a thirsty child and realize you have a nose, head, and chest full of goop, after you get your child settled back down, just drink some water and take a mucinex and go back to bed like a normal person!! eyes

danielle!  My advice to you is to NEVER EVER look up symptoms on the internet if you have health anxiety!  I have diagnosed myself with four different diseases this week alone because I can't believe the pain I have is fibro related!  We ALWAYS zoom in on the worst case scenario and it reeks havoc with our nervous system.  Fibromites secrete a lot of mucus...don't know why but that's what my rhuemy told me.  So sorry you went through that because I have done it myself!  My New Years resolution is to stay away from Google.

Feel better, get some rest and take your Mucinex!

Danielle in your google search did you miss the part about it being a common cold???
I have a lot of anxiety but I'm glad that is not one of them. I only panic if it has to do with chest pain or breathing.
With sjogrens I don't have enough body secretions to have goop. I have found that standing out in 10 degree temps waiting for Krissy to go potty does make my nose run and clears my sinuses.
luv and hugs

I used to have health anxiety.  I had a health manual that had many illnesses and symptoms in it.  Even though I wasn't sick, I would read it and develop the symptoms!  shocked    I threw the book away and stayed away from health info for many years.
So, Danielle, I do know what you went through and  you have given excellent advice!  yeah

I totally used to freak out when I was young about health issues. But that was when you had to look it up in a "health book". I threw the book away and it was the best thing I ever did. NOW I would absolutely never ever google anything to do with health! It's a good new year's resolution! Great idea!
I have Fibromyalgia, and nothing else!
I take Lyrica 225 mg/day and Tramadol (150mg time-released)
