Hi all! I am back. Many of you know I am being treated for possible lyme though I dont think I have it---my labs just dont show it. Anyway, does anyone here with fibro have beaus lines on their nails-ie- horizontal ridges? They developed on every single finger and toe nail right after my sx started....

Still getting stabbing, burning pains, with cracking joints, muscle pinches etc..

I do. I'm not sure why. My boyfriend thinks it is the weirdest thing. I only have them on my right thumb nail right now, but I'll get them on other nails randomly.

Do you know what causes that?

Absolutely. I have them on all of my fingers... I always thought our finger nails were supposed to be smooth! lol

What do the ridges mean exactly? I will have to look that up...

Im being put thru a bunch of tests for Lyme and I dont think I have it... but my doctors just arent okay with me being dx with just Fibro! But a few of them insist its Fibro and cant possibly be Lyme! haha fight between doctors over little ol' me!
Lyrica and Paxil (both working quite well might I add!)

So mine are ridges that are horizontal...literally came on a month after my symptoms started. I have had SO many tests-blood, MRI, EMG blah blah-all fine. I went to an LLMD and they suspect lyme but mainly off my symptoms and the fact that every other test has been fine. I just have a hard time accepting it I guess since I live in the city.

I have ZERO tender points for fibro.

I seem to get flares--lately I have been getting random numbness on odd spots on my right hand.

I think the worst of my sx are nerve pains.

So I wonder if beaus lines can relate to fibro. I read it could be caused by a system or metabolic illness if they are consistent lines, if just only occuring once then its after an illness like pnemonia.

I just keep worry that something else is going on with me and its going undetected. My sx are scary!!

I have the ridges and have had them for years but actually that's the least of my problems!  LOL  I bought a fine file/buffer and buffed them out.  I do this about every three months and my nails are smooth and nice.

I have Crohn's and I thought that's were the ridges came from.  Oh, well.

The ridges I have on my nails are vertical. I try to keep them buffed out too.

King I hope you have answers to your problems soon.

I would have ignored it if it had not onset after my pains. Then when I read horizontal lines/ridges (beaus lines)could be serious I knew it had to be connected

Its so odd I have been to SO many drs and all tests come back clear for the most part

Getting more labs done today

YES I DO HAVE RIDGES ON MY NAILS! My family doctor had noticed that a while ago... they are quite noticeable.

I also have similar pains to yours from my Fibro along with cracking joints, no muscle pinches though!

Hope all is well.

Do you pains feel like bone pains, like something shooting deep and up a random finger or toe? Nerve pains too?  I dont have the tender points, and wonder if everyone else has these type of pains as I thought fibro was muscular over nerve related. Thing is, ALL my tests are clear thus far. I am being treated for POSSIBLE lyme, but just dont know how I would have gotten it... a LLMD has me on meds, no a PC.

Weird! I have vertical ridges on all my nails. Is that the same thing?
I have Fibromyalgia, and nothing else!
I take Lyrica 225 mg/day and Tramadol (150mg time-released)

I have had these since I was bit by a tic at the age of 6, I am now 34. I was just diagnosed with LD last fall. I have never tested positive for any LD test. I have many symptoms of FIBRO and MS. This finger nail thing I have always had. This whole LYME Disease/Fibro is all too much of a coinciudnece. Dont you think???
