Hi Everyone,
I was put on Cymbalta 3 month ago and am currently taking 60 mg at night. I am seeing my Rhuemy next week and was going to ask to up my dosage. I was wondering if you are on Cymbalta, what is your current dosage, and did you notice a need to up it after a while?
Thanks for your replies,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I too am on 60 mg. a day. My family doctor tried to up mine to twice a day and my Insurance refused to pay. According to the Insurance Company...60 mg. is the normal dosage. Now, I am seeing my Rheumatologis tomorrow and going to see if I can try something else stronger, because I cannot afford the Cymbalta each month. Good luck with your's!

Hugs!!   Margie

Kathy, I have recently increased my cymbalta to 90 mg a day. I take mine in the mornings; I was on 60 mg a day for a few years and felt that I needed a boost. It wasn't that I had built up a tolerance, it was that my life had radically changed [for the better, but positive stress is STILL stress :] I met with a new doc and we increased it. I don't buy the 90mg tabs, I buy both the 60 and the 30, then take them together. I hope you are able to find a dosage that works for you. If you have any questions, I am always happy to chat. Peace!

I'm on 60mgs right now and I told my doctor last month that since we upped it from 30 to 60mgs I felt like I havent noticed anhything diffrence in my pain or depression just alot more side effects and he said that he usually doesnt go above 60mgs because the side effects just get worse and the depression and pain only changes about 5%. So I did some research on it and seems like he is right but then I came across ALOT of terrible and very scary stuff about coming off of the Cymbalta and it made my stomach turn. Just be careful, and speaking of which I should go take mine right now before I forget. goodbye.

Hello All,
Thanks for your replies on this. I had not done any research on Cymbalta at all. I know I was switched from Lyrica to Cymbalta and I noticed an immeadiate difference in my pain levels. But, I was just wondering what the norm is among Fibro patients for dosage. Because my stress level has been increased dramatically, see my posts on Question of Progression....and it may be a year or more for any normal stressors to return. I am curious of what pain meds people seem to do well on.

I know we are all different but just wanted some ammo with me when I meet with my doc.Right now I take OTC Motrin, my Mom gave me some percocet to try as well as Darvocet. The percocet just makes me not really care, and the Darvocet does work on certain types of pain for me, and I also take flexeril when I need it.

Have you guys found a cocktail that is working well for you?

Sorry for the long reply, guess I am trying to go into a manic stage right now.
