Hi,

You guys were talking about inflammation in another post. I went to my Rheumy today because my feet and ankles have been swelling over twice their size in the last 2 weeks. He told me it was from one of my medications and gave me a water pill.

I've always been told that with Fibro you won't have swelling. I have gained alot of weight lately from a few of my medications, so thought it could be my weight.  Just wanted to let you know what I found out on mine. I'm curious now to see what your Rheumy will say, Julie. Please let us know!

Hugs!!  Margie

I hope your staying warm this morning Margie. It's -14 here -29 with wind chill. I'm glad this isn't going to last long.

Are you on lyrica??? Is that what is causing the swelling???

I hope the water pill helps.

luv and hugs

Hi Marlee,

No, I went off Lyrica about 3 months ago because it really wasn't helping and all I did was gain weight for the 6 months I took it. My Rheumy wasn't very talkative yesterday, just said the swelling was drug/medication related. I wasn't too happy with him. It was one of those days where everyone seems to be in a hurry with no time to talk!

My family doctor started me on Neurontin about 3 weeks ago & increased my Klonopin dosage, which was when all of this started, so I think that it would have to be one of the two. He did decrease the dosage on a couple of my medications, including the Neurontin, so hopefully everything will get better. I have not worn shoes for a month! Between the swelling and heel pain I have been wearing slippers. lol

It is very cold here too. Wind chill warning until noon on Friday. Right now the temp is -17 with a wind chill of -36. I've been thinking about going back to bed, but I'm afraid I'll wake up later feeling worse.

Keep warm & take care!

Hugs!! Margie

Swimming helps with my swelling. When I do not do it I need a water retention fixer upper pill. HOwever, those are giving me cramps and I can no longer take them.

My doctor said that swelling sometimes occurs with fibro.
