help! i'm FREEZING over here!!!!! it is a horrible -2 out right now and i don't even want to know what the wind chill factor is (it's supposed to get down to like -15 today..)

i've tended to do better in the winter than i do in the summer (the heat makes me feel horrible) but now i realize that i just feel better in MILD winters! i can handle 30/40 degrees no problem, and that's what we normally have around here in the winter. but this year has been unbelievably cold and i am definitely feeling it in my body. my joints hurt so bad and i can't stop shivering which is making my muscles achy.

basically-i am not having a good time right now! shakehead

sorry, just had to come on here and whine for a minute. i'm going to go put on another sweater and about 3 more pairs of socks.

i hope you all are staying warm today!

It's -4 here, then again I do live in maine and well it always gets cold in winter where I am. Mountains tend to do that. I don't do well in the winter and it's hard because we are a family who loves to snowmobile and lately I haven't been able to because of the pain.

Stay warm. I know that hot baths work for me.

Hey Neighbor!!

Yup, I'm with you.. it's about -1 right now, where did our mild winters go???  This is insane!!!!  My little dog, Chloe, was outside for about 45 seconds this morning and "froze up", her head drooped and she could barely move.. lol maybe she's a fibromite too.  She hasn't left my lap all morning.  I think we're keeping eachother warm.  I'm "firing up" the heating pad **wishing I had an electric blanket right now**  Looking out my window at th foot of snow out there doesn't make me any warmer either... ACCK!!!! This is the worst winter I can remember in at least 10 years.  I keep praying this weather doesn't bring on an even worse flare.

Stay warm,

Patti

Brrrr! It is so cold here all the schools are cancelled.  -17 with wind chills -40.  I hear tomorrow will be the same.  I am all covered in blankets with my coffee and my computer.  I don't even want to think about going out.  Thank goodness our university cancelled as well so I get to stay home to.  I feel so sorry for anyone who has to venture out today  shocked .

I long for summer or even spring.

aww, dolphin, meggie and patti-p i am sorry you're having to suffer through this, too:( it sucks!

and my little dog is also suffering. our husky LOVES this weather (this has to be some sort of biological thing) but our little jack russell HATES it. you should see him! he literally tiptoes over the snow lol. and if our big dog gets too happy and starts meandering and going too slow, little dog will "yell" at him-he'll start growling and nipping at him like "hey, bozo! i'm freezing here! this is no time for play-let's get back to the house!!" haha

this has definitely been the worst winter in a long time..you think i'd be used to this since i grew up in northern michigan and every winter was like this during my childhood/teen years, but then again, i didn't have fibro back then, either.

everybody-say it with me-C'MON SPRING!!!!!!!! (that darn little rodent better not see his shadow in february!)

oh no! i just checked the weather report and it's supposed to be TWICE as cold here tomorrow!shocked (that means -4 to -5 with wind chills taking it down to -30!!! ) they better not have school here tomorrow (i still can't believe they did today!) especially since the heat in my daughter's high school doesn't work very well.

oh man. i'm going to have to stop looking at the weather. it's too depressing! sad

Ugh I am with you guys! It's SO COLD!!! I know it was below zero when I left for work this morning, and that's not even with the wind chill! I scraped off my car (always fun) and by the time I was done, I honest to god could not feel my thighs....they were numb! If it wouldn't have been too late to call into work, I would have...but that also would have made the 3rd day in a row! I HATE this cold! I feel like I'm 80 with the cold and my joints being so crackly. Add on the endo pain I'm going thru right now (that's right, BOTH are in high gear now) and I just want to die!

OH I am so right there with you all!! I'm in Indianapolis and it is -3 (feels like -21) right now. Tomorrow is supposed to get even colder. I got in my car this morning and looked at the thermostat and it said "0." For a moment, I thought it was broken. Then I realized it wasn't and was a little depressed. I promise, my fibro gets worse with the weather. My husband and I are hoping to move south in a few years to see if it will help. I have my whole life to get this fibro thing figured out. Oh, and not to mention, that I have the symptoms of Raynauds and so the cold REALLY gets to me. I ALWAYS have my space heater going at work, am wearing layers, and making sure that my electric blanket is never too far away at home.

Hope everyone has a great day (despite the weather) and can wrap up and enjoy a good book or movie and some hot chocolate!!

I'm not too far from Marlee,  -16 with wind chill of -36 right now. It is suppose to be worse tonight and tomorrow morning! Yep, I'm ready for Spring!

At least I don't have to go anywhere today. Just going to stay in and keep feeding the fireplace. Hope everyone else is staying warm and pain free.

Hugs!!  Margie

well i just went out to pick up my son at preschool, and it isn't as bad out as it was this morning! the sun is shining and there's no wind at all, so right now it's stepped up to just really cold instead of butt-f##%!!@# freeze your nose off cold. not much of an improvement, i know, but hey! we've got to cling to whatever positives we can find, right?? tongue

also, we stopped at the gas station on the way home and they had a sign up letting everyone know that they've already cancelled school here for tomorrow. thank goodness! now i won't have to worry about my daughter freezing all day.

Chicago is no better, ladies...right now it is -6, with wind chills -25. My dogs who love cold weather aren't even lingering outside, thank goodness. I have two Golden Retrievers and one, poor baby, could barely walk outside this morning, actually walking on three legs, picking up his paws, changing off. I'm searching for a product called "Musher's Secret" a wax you put in their paws and it protects them not only from ice, salt and snow, but also hot pavement, which of course, I don't have to worry about right now. It's suppose to be all natural, it absorbs into their paws, so it is not harmful...great product...only problem, I can't find it! I'm thinking of using it on myself, smear it all over my face and hands before I go out!!! nice look, huh???

I always feel worse in the cold. In Iowa today it's about the same as Wisconsin. I also hate wearing lots of clothes. In my dream world, I am barefoot, in shorts and a tank, with all the doors and windows open. At night I only sleep with a sheet. That's my dream world. IRW I sleep with tons of covers suffocating me and lots of warm clothes. Yuck. Diane

I am so sorry that so many are dealing with these super cold temps. It has warmed up here in washington state to the 40's on some days. I can barely stand it when it gets onto the teens!!! I immediatly clench up all my shouder muscles in the cold and that gets everything hurting and my ancle and hand joints ache all the time in the cold. If it makes anyone feel better I have a slumlord landlord who doesnt fix anything so I have no hot water in my upstairs sink and no heaters working upstairs so only an old baseboard heater downstairs and a space heater. I want to get one of those electric blankets that snaps around you so you are covered all around in warmth. And Honeyprincess I went through years of horrible endo pain so I feel for you girl. I finally had a hysterectomy to stop it but it still came back and I have to go in to have all the adhesions and stuff cleaned out every few years. And now its in my bowel so I have a bowel resection to look forward too owwwwwwww.

It's cold here, too!  Cold for Florida, that is.  We are supposed to get freezing temperatures here tonight.  I can think of a Pulitzer Prize winner I'd love to tie to one of my palm trees tonight!  devil

When I went into labor with my son, it was forty below zero and we couldn't get the car heated up so I froze on the half hour trip to the hospital.  We were praying that the car didn't stall because of the freezing temperatures, too.  I lived in Cleveland at the time.  Brrrr!  We would take socks and rubber band them to our dog's feet so she wouldn't get frostbite when letting her out.  My husband had to shovel a path for her because the snow was too high.

I do sympathize with you northerners.  It's only getting in the low 60's and I'm freezing!  devil

LOL... I'd love to be freezing at 60 degrees ABOVE zero... just bustin' on ya Sherrine.  Its all relative to what you're body is used to, but I don't think ANYONE's body is used to these temps.  Of course the pain is worse when its cold.  My house is about 65 degrees... I like it kind of cool in the house, I don't mind bundling up.  Usually you can't feel the drafts in here but tonight you sure can.  The winds are blowing at around 20 mph... so that doesn't help.

Stay warm and safe everyone.  Leave a faucet trickling.. you don't want frozen pipes!!

I cant believe this Michigan weather.........wind chill was 31 below this morning.  The coldest since 1972.  My body feels like I have been hit by a mack truck.  My legs dont want to move and my hips feel paralyzed.  I havent been out of the house since Tuesday and I am ready to climb the walls.  Another 4-7 inches of snow tomorrow.  I have fireplace going, heat turned up to 75 degrees, am fully dressed and still had to put on my robe.

It wouldnt be bad if I could find something to do in the house, but my body hurts so bad I cant get around.

And its only January!!!!!!!!!!!!  Stay warm to all those who are suffering this brutal cold
