I found a pain scale for chronic pain and thought others here may appreciate this information as well.

I don't know about you - but I have a lot of problems with those standard pain scales.

(you need to scroll down a little bit to see the scale)

This is good.  If you scroll down even further, there is a visual pain scale.  In Tampa General Hospital, they have a visual pain scale in every room and it really does help when a doctor asks how your pain is.  Thanks for sharing.

I saved it to my favorites so I can print off later.  Much better than the other pain scales I have seen!

I once told a doctor where my number on the pain scale was and he told me..."It can't be...because you are not screaming in pain"

Then why ask me?

I glad that you've found it helpful. I've always had a tough time with this. I look at the scales with the faces on it and know that the first face should equal a scraped knee and the last face should equal me going through childbirth with no meds. But - my face looks like the last face - even though I know I could be in more pain.

This scale has helped me a lot and reminded me that I was able to maintain between the 1-3 on this scale for such a long time. I can't wait until I am doing it again.
