I was just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced what i'm going through before?  I've have been diagnosed with fibro since 2003 and it has been a rollercoaster ride ever since. When i was first diagnosed my rhumatologist was only given Pamelor25mg and Zanaflex 4mg for my symptoms.  It worked pretty good for awhile they would just keep upping my dosages In Oct 07 i had a really bad episode that lasted at least 2 mnths. I was then put on Lyrica, which was a horrible experience for me. I only took it for 4 days and my knee became severely swollen and was literally black/blue causing a popliteal cyst. I was immediatly tooken off that and was given 60 mg Cymbalta which has been a life saver for me. I've been taking cymbalta, pamelor, celebrex, and baclofen about a 1 yr now and i've been doing overall ok however for the last 6 mnth i've gotten a mysterious rash (hurts) developed on my elbows. Went to my rhumatologist and dermatologist and they've given me meds, done a biopsy, and given me cortisone injections with unsuccesful results. Neither Dr. has any idea what this is. In the last two weeks i've been really sick with my firbro and now developed a new rash on my upper legs (on the exact same spot on each leg).  Dr. did another biopsy and now I'm just waiting for results. I wasnt sure if the flare up of my fibro was causing this or what? I've also have had some weird bruising in places where i haven't hit or done anything to get them?

Welcome to the Fibro board!

I wish I could say I had help for you, but I'm afraid I don't. I've never had any rashes or heard of anyone talk about them. I'm sure you'll hear from someone that has either experienced it or heard of the problem. Hopefully your doctor will have an answer for you and it will be something minor. Good luck and hang in there. Let us know what the doctor says.

Hugs!!  Margie

Hi spcdee and Welcome-

I have always had very sensitive skin even prefibro. When the fibro first hit me I had itchy rashes on my arms. I also have always bruised easily. In fact when I was around 30 yrs old, my Dr. at the time ran tests because it did not seem normal to him. Tests came back normal. Now with fibro I bruise even easier. I will get a bruise or bruises on my body and I have no idea what I did.

Nice to meet you and let us know how the biopsy turns out.

hi spcdee.
I have a popliteal cyst and it is basically all of my joint fluid that i NEED that keeps it swollen. :(
I also have a rash/bruising problem. My skin was always normal before and now it is super sensitive.
I have multiple chemical allergies and sensitivities and even cleaning the tub with Scrubbing Bubbles can give me a
rash from you know where all over my back. Fantastic (the cleaner) eats all of the skn off of my hands. This freaks me out and never
used to happen to me. I bruise but i'm not anemic and i can't even tell how or where i got the bruise.
My rash on my legs is like a dry skin patch...almost like clear nail polish has been applied in tiny areas. Or super glue.
This is crazy and even though I am flaring big-time I don't like some of the new fibro stuff that has been happening to me.
(I was diagnosed a long time ago) Best of luck to you and do let us know what's going on.
