The spec told me that I should be getting constant urge to go to toilet but with me its exactly the opposite, I feel like my bowel is dead.  Dont expect many replies but is this familiar with anyone else.   sue2z

Have you tried asking this question on the ulcerative colitis board?

Hi sue2z!

I too have UC but thankfully with meds it's in remission. I used to feel like I had to go...but wasn't much there. Most people with UC have problems with diarrhea...but if you have problems with constipation then you may have the opposite. I was thinking of pain medications and how they effect the gut. It has that 'dead' feeling because pain meds slow down and/or stop the movement in the gut. Just a thought...
