I have to take 2 melatonin (3mg) every night to ensure that I fall asleep and have GOOD sleep.
I have to take that and valerian root.... especially now that I am working because I just can't get through the day unless I've had good rest.

Anyways, today my mom told me that melatonin is NOT meant to be taken every night and i should stop it. I tried to explain that I can't sleep without it but she insisted that it can be harmful if taken every night like I take it.

SOO... Fibro family unleash hahaha.... Do I really have to give up my beloved sleep support?

Sunshine, Absolutely not.  Our families like to find & give us medical advice, mine are always telling me I just need to do this or give up that.  Usually they tell me I just need to push myself more because that is why I am so tired.  I take melatonin 5mg sublingually every night because my Dr recommended it, not some family member.  To give them credit, for the most part, my family just wants me to get well & be like I used to be.  They haven't gotten to the acceptance stage yet & I am well past it.  So, talk to your Doctor & take his (her) advice.  I use that alot: yes I did talk to my Dr about what you said & she said, etc.  Tends to make them think.  Some just say I need a different Dr but no way am I ever going to change because she knows Fibro & she has helped me immensly with all my problems.  Hugs, Denise
