We went to a friends house Sunday night for the football game. My friend and I were talking and she told me about an article that her Mom had read, It was about memory. The article stated that if you drink 2 - 8 ounce glasses of CONCORD grape juice a day it will help your memory and my friend stated she had been drinking this for
2 weeks and it seemed to really help. Monday I go to the store to get a few things and had intentions of getting the grape juice I get the items I need and stand in the store for about 10 minutes trying to figure out what I have forgotten. Cant seem to remember any thing else. So I go through the check out. load my items in the car.by this time I am tired.I head home, It takes me 25 minutes to get to any store we live literally in the middle of know where, I am on my way home and then and only then do I remember that I forgot the grape juice that is suppose to help my memory. (HELLO). I really need to get the grape juice. I have decided that i am going to get one of those little devices that you can record things on and carry it with me at all times. If I make a list I leave it at home. I have seen those little things  on key chains.  I am so tired of forgetting things.especially when I live that far away from a store.
If any one has any suggestions on the memory thing let me know.

I write myself messages on the back of my hand. Unfortunately, you can only write one or two small things.

I use the calendar function on my cell phone for everything. If I know I'll be stopping at the store after work, I'll add a small list of the things I need and set the alarm to ring when I'm in the store. I always forget my paper lists. I set it to remind me to make phone calls, appointments, cook dinner, stop and pick up pizza, everything I need to remember. If my phone didn't remind me to thaw the Thanksgiving turkey, we'd still be waiting to cook it. I add new appointments before I step away from the desk at the dr office. My next phone will have a full keyboard to make it even easier. Phones don't have a lot of calendar memory so I always delete the regular messages afterwards. I leave the things I may need to refer back to.

I occasionally even set the calendar on my husband's phone to ring him with an "I love you" message.

My dh bought me one of those little recorders and it is wonderful.

When I would make a grocery list out I would end up loosing it so now I leave this little device on the kitchen counter and every time I see something that I'm out of I record it.

It's a good little device and you can buy them at Walmart.

God Bless!

I've not heard of the grape juice helping with memory but I bet a lot of people will be running out to buy some. tongue

I'll have to check my cell phone to see if mine has that feature.

Hi Lee Ann, I use a Dayplanner.  I keep everything in there from grocery lists to when the bills have to be paid to pictures of my grandchildren to picking up prescriptions, etc.  I call it my "Memory".  I used to call it my "brain" but found I got funny looks when I would forget it & say "I forgot my brain!!"  People in line at the checkout counters would move back a step.
So, as soon as I need to remember something I write it in there.  Hugs, Denise

P.S. It is good to write down peoples names in as well, because I can never remember their name 5 minutes after they have gone.

I have:  Fibromyalgia, MECFS, Holt-Oram Syndrome, nasal allergies, depression, TMJ,

Married to a wonderful supportive husband & between us we have 4 children & 7 grandchildren

I can just see me. Everytime I meet somebody new, I would be saying "wait a minute while I write your name down." I forget peoples names shortly after I meet them. Sometimes if I repeat it in my head a few times, I can remember. Often I find if I repeat the name back, it helps too.

Hugs, Karen

I cannot handle getting directions verbally anymore - it just doesn't compute!

I'll have to try the grape juice thing - it's also a heart healthy thing to do.
Still learning how to manage my Fibromylagia, and all the lovely gifts it brings.
I had severe spinal stenosis, had fusion done on C5-7, and my life has changed.

That little device I got to record everything on is about $30.00 at Walmart and it has been a life saver for me.  It's a lot quicker then having to write something down.

I seriously just laughed out loud!!!! While I sit here at my desk at work... thank goodness no one was around me!!! : ) TOOO FUNNY!!!!  I have done the same things.  I write notes and I either forget them at home (which I also live in no man's land) or some how some way these notes go MIA on me!!! That or here is another good one... I forget that I wrote the note!!!!  I am with Dagger on this one... I write notes on the back of my hands as well... people always ask if I need a pad of paper and I just say NOPE... can't lose this!!!! : )  Although I have even missed that one... it IS winter after all... my hands get covered now!!!  Yeah good excuse right??? I have missed it in the summer too.  It just that the memory is SO bad that if I don't do it when I see it then it will be forgotten.  SHOOT... I forget while on my way to do it!!!! LOL

I was at the hospital yesterday (for like 5 freakin hours) and my mother had come to stay with me... and we would be talking and a nursewould come check my vitals or something...nothing big and my mom would be like "so what were you saying"  I'm like...."I don't know"  she says you were talking about this or that....  and for the life of me I wouldn't remember!!!! This was SEVERAL times too!!!  Yeah its pretty sad that I have to tell my mother things so I will remember!!!

Sorry for rambling but I have to tell about last summer when I was suppose to go to my parents for my birthday... yes MY birthday and I TOTALLY forgot!!!! I was laying around on the couch just watching a movie and my mom calls and when I answer she asks where I am.... so I tell her and she is like "why aren't you on your way you should be here already"... and STILL NOTHING.. had no clue... totally forgot!!!  I guess it was a surprise birthday party after all!!! LOL!!! : )

I am writing get grape juice on my hand RIGHT NOW!!! : )

Wishing everyone a great day, ((((hugs))))
