Hi chrisherry and welcome!
Glad you joined- I was a geriatric nurse for many years and hung up my stethoscope 13-14 years ago. Do not miss the workload but miss the skills. Went into administrative asst. positions since then. Have been off work since May of 08' because the fibro hit me so hard. It has been quite an adjustment, but I am adapting- and I can thank the very special moderators and members here for that.
Come join in on our daily Koffee Klatches when you can, Chutz (one of our moderators) posts a different subject everyday and keeps us hopping.
Nice to meet you!
Hi there Sherry!!!
I see several others have stopped by to welcome you, too. This is a great forum, probably one of the smartest things I've with my computer in a while Everyone here is so wonderful and always willing to help.
Don't worry about your fried nurse brain... there's lots of very smart folks here and we exercise their minds whenever we get the chance and if not, we sure do understand the trial & tribs. of brain fog!! LOL, I used to be able to type about 75 wpm. Now I'm lucky if I can remember how to spell!!
Anyway, keep posting and be sure to come visit when you can.
Warm welcoming hugs,
You have already been given great advice by the others. The fibro 101 thread is very helpful. I use the stretching exercises. I've found what Sherrine says is very true. If I keep myself moving, I feel better. On the days I just stay in bed, I'm worse because my legs are so stiff and sore by the time I do get up. Although, there are days I have to stay in bed.
I'm glad you found our site and hope you enjoy and learn as much as I have. On the days you remember, I'm sure you can help alot with all the medical knowledge you know.
Never regret something that made you smile!
