Good Morning FMily...
Every morning I'm greeted with an inspirational quote of the day in my email inbox.  I really like them and sometimes they're just perfect for dealing with a DD.  I thought this one was a good one for today & I'll post them often if you would like me to.... here ya go:

Today's Inspirational Quote:

"If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've
had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to
stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give
up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

-- Michael Jordan

LOL... maybe someday I'll write a book with all of these quotes I've saved up for a rainy day

Hugs and Happiness...

Hi Patti,

That was really nice.  So inspirational.  And so true.

I have a quote that is a little longer.  I try to live my life by this.  It is possible that I have posted it before, but I am sure that there are others who may have not read it.  It is called Desiderata.

I hope that you all like it.

Luv and hugs, Karen

Wow, that's really beautiful Karen. Thank you so much for sharing it!

Since we're sharing, this is probably my favorite poem of all time. I had parts of it as my signature for awhile, but realized it was a bit too long for that lol. It's by the 13th century Sufi mystic poet, Rumi.

GUEST HOUSE

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,

some momentary awareness comes

as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,

who violently sweeps your house

empty of it's furniture,

still, treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out

for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,

meet them at the door laughing,

and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,

because each has been sent

as a guide from beyond.

love and hugs

Oh Karen,
Its been quite a few years since I read Desiderata.  I used to have it almost memorized since I had it on parchment in a beautiful frame that hung in my hallway.  A friend who had tried to commit suicide, always commented on it, so I gave it to her as a get well gift.  That was about 20 years ago.  Thanks for posting it and reminding me of it.  I'm going to print it and put it up in my office at home.
Warm hugs,
Patti

This is too funny!! I just went to my mail and I had three, I call them 'Love Notes' from my cousin. She sends me inspirational notes, prayers and some hysterically funny things. I just went thru the three and I felt so good and calm and loved. I have been going thru a lot of stress and it still continues, but my dear cousin sent me something that lightened my load. It was so good to think someone was thinking of me, just in a loving way. She has had such pain and loss in her life and yet she is such a good, kind and optimistic lady.

I believe God gives us Angels in so many forms, a dear friend who just knows when you need an emotional hug. The dear friends here who understand when we are down, confused, & tired and they give us the reassurance that we are still good and worthwhile ppl.

I haven't got a clue how to transfer what she wrote the way Karen did. I not that gifted w/ computers. I hope you will forgive me, but I will try to copy some down and include them later.

Patti, great idea! I would enjoy it. Your idea of collecting them for a book is excellent. I might try that, too. Just need to figure out how the heck to do that. rolleyes

Altho I can't sent the items to you yet, I do wish you all a wonderful day, full of peace and contentment and no pain - I can wish it!

God bless.  Alice.

Patti,

I have had Desiderata around for about twenty years also. Kind of gives our age away doesn't it? I love it, it has got me through a lot of hard times.

Alice,

I just typed in the name of the poem and found it on the internet. Then I used the URL(?) as a way to get there. That was the only way that I knew how to do it.

Luv and hugs, Karen

Hey Patsie - Girl!!

I don't know if you got "shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars" from me or someplace else.  I love that quote - it just makes me happy.  It got me through a lot of tough projects when I was working and it reminds me, if I don't try I won't ever know how it will turn out.. if that makes any sense.  In other words.. give it all you got and you'll never really lose.

Hey Danielle, that was a great peom!!  I copy and pasted it into my "inspirational quote" folder.  I like to look at it when I'm feeling a little down, it helps me put things into prospective.  Though I've battled with depression most of my life, I've learned that things could be much worse and to take things instride and be patient, because things are forever changing and usually turn out for the best (if not... then just make the best of it.)

Warm hugs,

Patti

Oh YES I got that from you and as silly as it may seem it has really inspired me. I only started playing piano as an adult and it has been my salvation. Often my pain is so great I struggle to practice but that little quote on my board gets me through.

Thank you, Patsie

I guess my silly little quotes aren't so silly afterall. (my brothers would tease me about having that quote on my email signature.. I'll have to tell them the "story of Patsie"  .. that'll show 'em) HA!!
Thanks Sweetie.. you're a doll!!!
More hugs..

I love the "shoot for the moon" quote, I even have it on a rubber stamp.

My son gave me dogtags with a quote from the Marines "Obstacles are everywhere, get over it"

I post quotes in my classroom and change them every few weeks. My current quote is "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." by Abe Lincoln. My students are all learning English so it is always interesting to see how they interpret the quotes.
