Oh I know Patti the other morning I had the door open waiting for Miss Krissy to go potty and the birds were singing, music to my ears.

It got up to 58 yesterday so I took her for a walk, not a long one cause I wasn't feeling that great but the poor baby got out for a little while. Today 60 but we are suppose to have rain all day.

Ten more days til we turn the clocks up, HORRAY!!!

Chris, I can't remember if I have welcomed you, so welcome to the family.

luv and hugs

Oh Panda that is fantastic, are you sure you weren't hallucinating!!!! Just realized in the past few days the robins are gone. They usually are gone my March 1 and it does seem a little earlier this year.

Have a great day!!!! Patsie

The birds are in hiding here...we're supposed to get 6 inches of new snow between today and tomorrow...I'm going back to bed.

Patti- I saw a large group of robins yesterday....I was very surprised and excited!!

I also had another AMAZING bird experience on tuesday...we have a few feeder, and the food was getting low, so I went out to fill them..the chickadees always seem to just hang out in the tree while I fill up the feeders...and I have tried this before..but nothing has ever happened...but I tried again...i put a bunch of seed in my hand and just stood there...and with in 5 min. I had a few chickadees land on my hand and take food!!!! amazing!! I was so excited about this!!! Maybe I'll try again today! I'm looking out the window now...and I see the usual bunch out there...plus a nuthatch

I'm with you julieleaps. Where in the UP do you live? I live in south central area so am expecting lots of snow also and high winds. I read in the local paper that people have seen robins here but not me yet. I am soooo looking forward to spring which will show up sometime in May! Oh we have a long time to go yet. at least the robins should be here before that. I think I'll go hide under the covers until then. Lisa

I am in Michigan also. I wait fro the redwing blackbirds for a foolproof spring. Robins can come early and we still have yucky weather. But there is a swamp across the road and usually the blackbirds go there. I get so excited when I hear them. I saw a red colored finch the other day. That was cool. I don't feed the birds anymore because of the neighborhood cats. Always hanging around the birdfeeders.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

Luv and hugs, Karen

Spring? We had a relapse here - east of Seattle. Snow overnight. Cold too (for here). It'll take a little extra fleece for my morning walk.

I hope spring is arriving soon for you.  I know we get robins in Florida but they sure aren't in my neighborhood!  I haven't seen one down here in 11 years.  We do get lots of cardinals, though, and of course the more tropical birds.

I hope to see a Robin soon. I am so sick of winter. Maybe my joints won't hurt as much.

Just got back from my morning walk.  There were three robins sitting on a lawn - in the snow.  And they didn't seem to care about the snow.

No robins in mid Michigan yet but the birds that are here are scouting out the bird houses. I started my begonia corms and they have started little buds! All I need is that tiny little green growth to get my hopes up. Spring will come... eventually! And here in Michigan it will last approximately 28 minutes and it will be 87ยบ and we'll be complaining about the heat! tongue

Hey Everybuddy

Thanks for your hopeful replies!!!  Spring is on its way.. but I'm sure here in NE Indiana we'll have a little more snow.. but at least it won't last for 2 or 3 months anymore.

Getting By- Karen.. You are 100% right about the redwing blackbirds, when they appear Spring is right behind them.. we usually can count on only one minor snowfall after that.  Another positive clue that we won't have anymore snow is the disappearence of Junkos!!

So, in a nut(hatch)shell.. I think we're coming close to the end of that horrible W word.. Winter.. Thank GOD!!!

Hug to all...

No robins here!! Smart birdies- and if I were to see one they would have on miniature snowmobile suits to keep warm!!

Sherrine- I didn't know there were cardinals in Florida, I love cardinals, they are one of my favorite birds here!

Woooo - Hoooo!!  I just saw a flock of Redwing Blackbirds!!!  I was traveling about 20 minutes south of my home and there they were!!  There ya go.. Karen!!!  They're on the way!!! :-)

BTW, I meant to mention earlier, ((fog alert)), Kelly!!  How cool is THAT, having the Chickadees eating right out of your hand.  I always wanted to try that!!  I don't get Chickadees (one of my favs) here for some reason.  We don't have a lot of trees in our neighborhood, so I guess that's the problem.  But good for you!! I'm jealous!!!

Warm *think Spring* hugs,
