I was diagnoised with fibro about 2 years ago. I have increasing pain in the top of my legs. It is mostly in the crease of the legs. Is this from Fibro or could it be something else?

Hi Park and welcome,

Oh my yes, pain in my legs is my most significant complaint. I even had a dickens of a time with cramping until Sherrine, one of our moderators, got me on the magnesium/malic acid regimen. It took time for it to work for me but the difference now is amazing. I also take 2000 iu of Vitamin D3 every single day. I rarely cramp now, feet were terrible too, but the actual pain is so much better.

I had "growing pains" just awful as a young girl and have read links relating it to Fibro. I would be in agony and my Dad, an Osteopath, would gently rub them for me. I equate some of my night time pain to the same feelings!!!!

Hope this helps you.

Patsie

Leg pain is common with fibromyalgia. Though most of my pain is in my shoulders and neck and arms. Try to keep moving. It really does help. And like Patsie said, you might want to check out the malic acid/magnesium supplements. I also take the vitamin D3 and it helps a lot.

Best wishes to you and I hope that the pain subsides.

Hugs, Karen

Do you have to take both malic acid and magnesium for this to be helpful? I am leary of the magnesium because of diarrhea and wondering if malic acid alone would be helpful.

Hi, Park, and welcome!  You have to start out slowly with the magnesium  If you take too much and your body isn't accustomed to it, you can get diarrhea.

Malic acid/magnesium supplements don't work for everyone but they have helped many.  I was leery at first but gave it a try and they really helped me, too.

Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibromyalgia, including a link all about malic acid/magnesium supplements, how they work in the body, and I explain how I started with them and I didn't have diarrhea.  I have an ostomy to boot but still didn't have a problem because I started them slowly and let my body become accustomed to them.

I'm glad you found us and joined in.  Read back posts and continue to ask questions.  We are here to help you.  Hope to hear more from you soon.

I suffer daily from pain in my legs, in particular my thighs and feet. Never had this before fibro, so I would say, yes, it is part of fibro.
Still learning how to manage my Fibromylagia, and all the lovely gifts it brings.
I had severe spinal stenosis, had fusion done on C5-7, and my life has changed.

Hi Park,

I just wanted to pop in and welcome you to the Forum.  I try to say hi to all of the newbies, since I was a newbie not too long ago.  This is a great place to gain knowledge and support.

I don't get a lot of leg pain, but do have pain in my ankles a lot.  I also have pain in my hips most of the time.  I hope you can find an answer for your problem.  I'm thinking about the magnesium/malic acid treatment, but want to check with my doctor first.

Again, welcome to Forum, keep posting and let us know how you're doing.

Take care,

Patti

Hi Park and welcome. Most of my pain is from waist up but lately I have been getting more leg pain. Yesterday it felt like someone was driving a rod up through my leg bones. I get cramps in the arches of my feet. I'm one of those that can't take the malic acid.

You will get a lot of help on here so stick with us.

Hi Park and Welcome-

I get leg pain and arm pain and foot pain and hand pain and shoulder pain - All kidding aside, yes, I get leg pain and some days it is bad! My pain travels and I never know where it is going to show up that day. I believe it is part of fibro, but if concerns you, I would mention it to your Dr.

Nice to meet you!

GamJill

I ordered the malic acid/magnesium yesterday. I will let everyone know if it helps.

Thanks!
