Ouchie Mama, Kelly!!! shocked

I had a bad cat scratch on the upper part of my foot once, it took forever to heal and it hurt like h-e- double toothpicks!!!  Did the ER doc mention soaking in embson salts??  That might make it feel a little better as sooth the infection.

Hope you heal quickly!!!

Warm hugs,

Patti

Wow Kelly that is terrible!!! It sure didn't take long for an infection to set in. I hope as soon as the antibiotic gets in your system it will start getting better. I guess I have never heard of anyone getting an infection from a cat scratch. My oldest son had to have rabie shots cause a stray cat bit him and we couldn't find the cat.

Get better soon!!!

I second that- OUCH!! shocked

My granddog is a 100 pound lab and almost everytime I see him at my sons or he stays with me he ends up stepping on one of my feet with his huge paws and nails (from playing). I have had more bruises on my feet and a limp for a day or two! No infections though- Hope it starts to feel better soon!

ahh! its getting worse. I think i need to go back. i'm getting better with my left hand though. Its the massive swelling thats causing the pain i think. the technical term they gave me was cellulitis. Its starting to effect my ring finger now too :( I have never had issues with cat scratches...ever...my old kitty was crazy/wild and used to attack me on a daily basis..and I had no problems...this I think is because the claw went in so deep...almost an inch i'd say. i think i'm going to call the doc now.

Kellygirl,

I hope you feel better soon.  I'm glad your going back to the doc to see about this.  It sounds really painful.  Did you get a tetinus shot?  Puncture wounds are very susceptible to tetinus because the top layer of skin heals first & can trap in the bacteria.  Ask your Dr about this just to be on the safe side.  Cats can carry around a ton of germs.  Feel better soon.

Gentle hugs, Denise

Hi Kelly,

I am glad that you went back to the doctor. It sounds like the infection started very quickly. Hopefully this will take care of it. I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Best wishes for a painfree day.

I'm glad you went back Kelly. Hope it heals up quickly now. The cat must have had something nasty on it's claw.
