Did you know...that today is Coupon Clipper Day? In 1999, Janet Pare of
Nashua, New Hampshire, walked into DeMoula's Market Basket
food store of Hudson, New Hampshire, and came back out with
$469.07 worth of groceries at a total cost of 3 cents. How did
she do it? By using more than 200 coupons. Wow!
OK.. So?? Are you a Clipper????  I must admit, I clip but forget to bring the dang things with me.. and even when I do, I forget to use them.  I'm sure its the fog, but I just can't seem to get organized enough to deal with coupons.  I ran a business, no problem... but coupons.. just can't seem go get the trick of using them.  Do you have any advice how to find coupons for things you'll ACTUALLY use??? The ones that come in the weekend inserts never seem to have stuff that you really need like, milk, eggs, beard, etc.

In times like these we all need to save money.  Since I'm currently unemployed I need some advice and help in the coupon world.

Thanks for your thoughts!!  And have a happy day!!

ROTFLMBO.... Funnnnnnnnnnnnnnny!!!  Chances are I'd be the one behind her!!!! smhair

Ever notice that the slowest line is the one you're standing in.  It never fails, I'm always behind the person that needs a price check or is using a gajillion coupons, or forgot their milk and have to run back to the dairy dept, or the cashier has to change of cash-out their drawer.  confused

Good one Dannielle!!!

LOL, i am always in the slow lane... Coupons I use to forget now they go in an envelope in my purse.. I tried one of those coupon organizers to big to bulky. one little envelope. What ever I save in coupons is mine will buy my self a little treat. sometimes its a candy bar sometimes its icecream I actually saved the extra for a couple weeks and went to lunch with a friend and still had left over money. It takes discipline but its worth it.

I clip the coupons, every Sunday, only for things I really use. So many times the store brands are cheaper than the 'name' brand with a coupon. I use paper clips to separate into categories and then put in an envelope that I leave in my purse always. Then when I make up my grocery list I look through the coupons I have. If one of the coupons is for an item on my list I write next to the item COUPON and what size, brand, how many, etc. This is so I don't forget, which I use to do all of the time. These days I read all of the ads that are for stores close to my house. If there are any great deals I go to that store or stores. I did not use to do this but today anything to save $$$. Good luck clipping. I do not know where to get coupons for everyday staples. I think there are some websites for this but I have never looked.

Oh wow.  I'm just horrible with coupons.  And those coupon books - just couldn't remember them til I was checking out and the book was ..... someplace.

The one thing that really works is our Regal Cinema card.  lol ... that's cause my wife carries it in her purse.  It pays off with occasional tickets or popcorn or a drink.  Guess I'm just not orgainized enough to be a coupon person.

Sometimes my wife does remember some coupons for the grocery store.

Ditto Pupplover...

I know its a pain to make all the effort, but it is well worth it after you see what you saved.  I only cut out or look for deals on only what I use.

Good Luck Patti,
