So, I'm going back to work this april (hoping it works out)

The problem is, my family just doesn't get it. They keep telling me this is something I'll just have to suffer through. If only it was that easy.

I've gotten to the point where I don't even argue with them anymore, I just give an off-handed "uhuh"

Hmmm just knew you guys could sympathize

Congratulations on going back to work! What's ya gonna do? Full time or part time?

Sorry for the insensitive remarks from the fam. Its probably best you don't argue, it would cause you more pain. Stress is not our friend.

Hey Sweetie, just remember you know your body best.  They may think they have your answers but most people don't even have their own answers.  I know it is hard to hear them over & over & it feels like what they are really saying is "Your just being puny, lazy & weak".  You might ask them sometime if that is what they mean & just come out with it.  I hate when people don't just say it outright because if you get upset or hurt or angry, they say "you" took it wrong, "again" & see you are weak.  They can say anything they want, think anything they want but it has absolutely no bearing on the fact that you are ill & what you are dealing with.  Maybe someday they will get it but for the most part they won't.  We get it, we will be here when you are sick & down & angry & happy & joyful.

Congrats on going back to work.  Every so often I dream about my old job & when I wake up I miss it immensely.  I love to work, to be busy & accomplish a goal I have set for myself. I do it now but my work is much smaller in scale.  LOL  I hope you get alot of joy from your work.  Hugs, Denise

I think just about everyone on here has at least one insensitive person in their family. I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with them. It is best just to ignore what they say. Congrats on going back to work. I hope it works out for you. I wish I could work, but it just hurts me too much. I really hope you are able to make it. Good luck to you. *soft hugs*

Good luck with getting back to work!!  And isn't it a shame that folks just don't get it and they probably never will.  Its hard to ignore and just say uhuh, somedays my insensitives hit me on the wrong day. Its really hard not to bite their heads off.  Somehow I bite my tounge because aurguing is harder than not and I know they just don't understand.

Hope you have a better day :-)

Hugs,

Patti
