I had the most unbelievable knee pain in the middle of the night.  I couldn't straighten, or bend my knee without being in excruciating pain.  It felt like a hot knife was being jabbed into it.  I've never experienced that before.  The pain lasted about 2 minutes and then it was gone. Anyone else ever have something like this?  I don't know if it was muscle spasms, or not.  It felt so weird and so painful.

I've not had it in my knees Ginny but I get stabbing pain in the joints in my hands that feel like someone is putting a skewer through my hands. Thank goodness they don't last that long cause it is unbearable.

I get the stabbing pain, too, Marlee. I get it primarily in my hands and legs, and they wake me up in the night sometimes. I feel for you Ginny!

Good grief, so this is a fibro thing.... I swear my fibro is getting worse by the week. And "they" say fibro isn't progressive.  Whatever!

Yeah, like a skewer going through my knee.  Good example Marlee.  The pain was so bad it took my breath away.

I hope you all have a pain-free weekend wink

Omg I had the same thing a couple weeks ago in my hip. I woke up because I was crying in my sleep though I was rolling into my hubbys druel.
I thought I was going to have to go to ER thought my hip was out of place or something.

Before I found out, or should I say diagnosed, with fibro, I had the same problem with my knee.  Sharp pains that come and go and it feels like there is a tight band around my knee and that it is going to give out all the time.  I went to the doc and they diagnosed it as pattelofemoral pain syndrome.  It's basically the cartiledge is wearing away from under the knee cap.  The told me ice and anti inflammatory meds will help it.  They lied LOL smhair   It will act up for a while and then go away for a month or 2.  Seems like the more I am on it the worse it gets too.  shakehead He also gave me excercises to do to strengthen the legs...he said that would help with the knee.  Don't know if it's the same as what you experienced, but thought I would put my 2 cents in LOL tongue
