I've had a sore throat all day and now I'm sneezing all over the place... my arms, back, and hips are killing me too. Do you guys know any good cold remedies? I've already missed a lot of college classes from the fibro and medication side-effects, and I really can't afford to miss any more!

Quick, find the soup. Vietnamese Pho, Jewish chicken, and even Chinese Won Ton will do in a pinch.

Oh, in college get some from the cafeteria.

Oh, soup! Of course! I have a ton back in my apartment, I'll make some for dinner.

Thanks!

Vitamin D supplements, and Provigil and Temazepam when I need them.
So far Cymbalta and Wellbutrin make me sick and Lexapro does nothing.

Kitty, oh dear nothing worse than a cold and/or flu.  Yuck.  Sleep & rest are the biggie.  If you can, get to sleep early, sleep as much as you can during the night.  Our bodies heal while we are in REM sleep & deeper.  Zycam can shorten a cold by half, it contains Zinc & if you coat your nasal passages & throat with zinc the cold germs can't penetrate the cells.  I used to suck on zinc tabs but I finally decided I would rather have the cold.  Yuck!! Studies have shown that chicken soup does help to relieve & lighten cold symptoms.  So, like Donnaeil said, Find the soup, quick.  I hope you feel better soon.  Warm hugs, Denise

I'm with Denise.. get ZICAM!!  The nose swabs.  Its not cheap but it you start using it at the on-set of a cold it works wonders!!!  It will shorten the duration of the cold and if you can get it in time the symptoms won't be as bad.

Definatly get some soup in your system and stay away from dairy products ( the dairy makes the stuffiness worse ).  Try to drink a lot of fluids and get lots of rest.. I'll send you a bill in the morning..LOL!!!!  I use day time and night time cold meds.. they seem to work well for me when I have a cold.

Sorry your feeling so lousy.. hope you're better soon!!

TAKE IT EASY!!!

Hugs,

Patti

My sister in Law is a dentist and she was told in school that gargling with warm salt water really helps for colds and sore throats. Something about it killing the bacteria. I do this whenever I feel a cold starting and it has really helped me. I can not take cold meds or cough syrups of any kind. This and tons of soup and juice is my only option. Also this option is super cheap!! lol

Hope your feeling better Angeline! Both my GD's are sick right now with some kind of upper respiratory- I swear the bugs/viruses don't go away until June around this state!
